Kel Mitchell Releases New Book and Song ‘Blessed Mode’: ‘God Loves When We Praise His Holy Name’

Actor Kel Mitchell, known for GOOD BURGER and co-host of DELICIOUSNESS, recently released his first book, “Blessed Mode,” and a song by the same name.

The actor and comedian is open about his Christian faith and hopes that “Blessed Mode” can encourage believers to renew their minds daily.

“So ‘Blessed Mode’ I did because a lot of people are going through anxiety, depression, emotional walls from their past, are worried about the future, and I wanted them to know that if you connect with God, there’s always a blessed breakthrough in every emotional wall,” he told Movieguide®. “Connecting with him, knowing that you are beautifully and wonderfully made.”

“It’s a devotional book,” he continued. “A lot of people wanted me to do a memoir at first, but I was like with all the ups and downs in my life, God was there for me in both, but in my down times, a lot of devotionals helped me out a lot because I had a busy lifestyle and it was just awesome to connect with God and get ready for my day and preparing for my day to get over this mind of mine that the enemy is trying to take over.

“You prepare to go outside but you’re close right? So prepare spiritually for what might come up because only God knows. We don’t know what’s coming up in the future. We don’t know what might happen, but I know that I want to respond in love and the only way to do that is to connect with God. That’s staying in a mode, which is blessed mode,” he said.

Mitchell also released a song called Blessed Mode, inspired by Biblical accounts of the fiery furnace and the lion’s den.

“I turned out so amazing. It’s fun to be back into music. I always loved music and God loves music God loves when we praise his holy name,” Mitchell shared. “It’s all ministry and I felt like it was just a good companion to ‘Blessed Mode.’

“No matter how crazy it goes, or how crazy it gets, God still loves you, and he’s letting the enemy know, ‘Hey, I’m stomping on your head.’ I am about to get through this. I can get through this battle. And when I get through this, it’s going to be a testimony. And guess what, I’m going to help others as well through my testimony,” he added. “We know with the grace of God that we can get through everything. We have the victory through it all. And so it’s just a daily reminder and that’s really what I wanted people to get from it and it’s been awesome.”

Mitchell also encouraged young people to pursue their creative dreams with courage and trust in God and his plan for their life.

“When you are praying, and when you get these witty ideas or creative ideas from God, don’t give up on that because you’re going to have people that are really going to come against that and try to say you can’t do that,” he said. “Take that leap of faith. You do not know the powerhouse that you can be by you just saying, ‘Okay, Lord, I’ll be obedient. I’m going to do what you told me to do. And I’m going to go after it.’

“So many of us stop because of the pressure of what can happen,” he continued. “No, go for it and you never know who you can help through you doing it because people are watching your actions. So when you say God’s gonna get me through this. I’m doing this God gave me this idea. You don’t think someone else is watching you? I love the verse ‘renew your mind daily,’ because it’s so important that we have to do that for encouragement… there’s gonna be some bumps in the road. But understand it’s happening for a reason to sharpen you to get ready for the next level of your life.”
