Christian Singer Jordan Feliz: ‘Honoring Marriage Is One Of The Greatest Gifts’

Christian musician Jordan Feliz recently defended the biblical view of marriage as today’s culture, media and education system try to redefine marriage.
Feliz stands by the biblical teaching that marriage is between one woman and one man and pointed to Ephesians 5:33 as inspiration for how he loves his wife, Jamie.
“Honoring marriage is one of the greatest gifts. As believers, it’s a biblical principle that we have to [uphold]. There are a lot of things in Ephesians that talk about it. But one of my favorite things in Ephesians 5, it just says seek the best for your wife,” he told Faithwire. “I think that’s a part of wanting to make marriage great, is meeting your person in the middle of life and always being there no matter what.”
However, Feliz notes that culture today does not “respect marriage anymore and they don’t even desire it.”
“It’s a time for us, as married people, to set a good example for people — for young couples,” Feliz said. “We’ve got a lot of young friends that just got married. We’ve been married for almost 11 years. And just being able to be that example and being able to push people into loving each other, trusting each other, growing together, and having fun. Marriage is fun, bro.”
Sadly, recent studies reveal that culture’s attack on marriage contributes to a breakdown of the home.
A Pew Research survey from 2019 found that the media’s definition of sex, love, and marriage has resulted in a lack of satisfaction, less marriage, and more divorce:
As more U.S. adults are delaying marriage – or forgoing it altogether – the share who have ever lived with an unmarried partner has been on the rise. Amid these changes, most Americans find cohabitation acceptable, even for couples who don’t plan to get married, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Even so, a narrow majority says society is better off if couples in long-term relationships eventually get married.
The survey also examines how adults who are married and those who are living with an unmarried partner are experiencing their relationships. It finds that married adults are more satisfied with their relationship and more trusting of their partners than those who are cohabiting.
However, many Christians continue to voice their support for marriage and other biblical values, such as sexual purity.

In a recent episode of her WHOA, THAT’S GOOD podcast, Sadie Robertson Huff discussed purity and waiting until marriage, something she and her husband Christian practiced before they got married.
“It really is worth it,” she explained. “I would just encourage you: Anytime you open that before it’s meant to be open, there tends to be shame, guilt, insecurity, self-doubt, all this stuff. But within marriage, we found that to be a beautiful gift. And so it’s definitely, definitely worth the wait. And you’ll see why it’s intended for marriage. It’s intended for two becoming one.”
She continued, “Christian and I said all the time, ‘We want your plan, God, not our own. We want to see your planning come to life in our relationship.’ And part of that was waiting to have sex until we were married. So yes, it feels like a huge deal. And you’re like, ‘Oh, I just want to get married. I just want to get married.’ But just wait, friends.”
While Huff encouraged her listeners to practice celibacy before marriage, she also had a message of forgiveness and grace for those who have fallen short of that goal.
“If you’ve already had sex before, you’re not alone,” Huff shared. “We had both had pasts before we met each other that were not totally pure. [But] then meeting each other, we decided we wanted to pursue purity together. And so we did.”
