New Production Casts Joan of Arc as ‘Non-Binary’ With ‘They/Them’ Pronouns

A new production at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London announced a new play, I, JOAN, which portrays the 15th-century peasant girl turned war hero as a non-binary character.

“History has provided countless and wonderful examples of Joan portrayed as a woman. This production is simply offering the possibility of another point of view. That is the role of theatre: to simply ask the question ‘imagine if?'” the playhouse said of the new production.

While they didn’t claim historical accuracy, the Globe tried to justify the use of “they/them” pronouns by claiming that the use of “they” to refer to one person was in use in the English language before the birth of Joan of Arc.

“We are not the first to present Joan in this way, and we will not be the last,” the Globe added.

According to Breitbart, Discovery+ also portrayed Joan of Arc as “non-binary” in an LGBTQ+ docuseries, THE BOOK OF QUEER.

Historically, Joan of Arc is a patron saint of France who led her country to victory in the siege of Orléans. She was later burned at stake after being captured by the English and accused of blasphemy, wearing male clothes, and more. However, no historical evidence suggests that Joan of Arc was anything but a woman.

Stripping the patron saint of her femininity proves that the progressive, woke ideology—which claimed they were fighting for women’s rights and equality for all just years ago—only cares about their agenda.

Author Joan Williams said: “As a little girl (child human female) I identified with Joan because there were so few historical women (adult human female) who fought in battles. Stop erasing her achievements. Little girls, like I was, need strong female role models more than ever.”

Live plays are not the only facet of entertainment to experience revisionist history. Classic movies that claim historical accuracy from years past are banned, censored, and amended to fit the progressive age.

Turner Classic Movies will be re-examining classic movies like GONE WITH THE WIND in order to explain their history and context in a new series REFRAMED: CLASSICS IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR.

While many people in society have advocated cancelling movies with potentially offensive elements, TCM thought it was better to explore why these famous movies are instrumental in cinema history.

“We’re doing this series because we’re in the middle of a nation-wide conversation about race, sexism, sexual orientation and gender,” TCM Host Ben Mankiewicz told Fox News.

Movieguide® encourages critical analysis of all movies to promote media discernment. By considering the important context and history behind a movie, viewers are better able to discern what they consume.

Eliminating these movies from cinema lexicon would prohibit gleaning any knowledge from these classic stories and cave to a revisionist history agenda.
