Season 3 Trailer for THE CHOSEN Reaches #1 on YouTube’s Trending Page

The new trailer for Season 3 of THE CHOSEN, starring Jonathan Roumie as Jesus, recently reached #1 on YouTube’s trending page.

The show’s creator, Dallas Jenkins, recently announced that the upcoming season of the faith-based, crowd-funded project would premiere its first two episodes in theaters.

The video trailer, which was posted on Oct. 17, already has nearly 900,000 views on YouTube.

Jenkins revealed that the upcoming season’s theme is based on Jesus’ words: “Come to me, you who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.”

“That’s the theme of Season 3, and man, that applied to those of us making the show as well,” Jenkins wrote in the trailer’s description on YouTube.

“It’s taken a long time for Season 3 to get here, and believe me, it wasn’t by choice. From supply chain issues affecting our construction, to Covid delays, to weather, the making of Season 3 for sure made us weary and heavy-laden. We don’t get to escape the themes of each season.”

“As you’ll see from this trailer, I believe it was worth it,” he continued. “We launch Season Three in theaters, with Episodes 1 & 2 coming to most English-speaking countries on Nov. 18 for a limited run on the big screen. And don’t worry, if you can’t see it in theaters, you’ll soon after get it free and easy on streaming. So what are you going to see?”

Jenkins also revealed more details about the plot and what fans and newcomers to the series can expect.

“Season Three picks up where Season Two left off (you should watch that season if you haven’t-—I promise Season Three will make more sense), with Jesus delivering the most famous sermon in history,” he said. “What follows are the consequences of living out his teachings.”

“The world changes because of this sermon, and the believers in (and enemies of) Jesus increase exponentially,” Jenkins added. “This creates confusion, chaos, and yes, doubt, and we don’t gloss over any of that in this season. I assure you, you’re going to see some tough questions asked that you’ve no doubt experienced yourself. But… He gives rest.”

THE CHOSEN is the most successful crowd-funded series in entertainment history and adapts the Bible in an inspiring, truthful way.

A portion of a Moveiguide® review from Season 2 of THE CHOSEN reads:

The “Reckoning” episode of THE CHOSEN is beautifully written, acted and directed as it prepares viewers for the delivery of the Sermon on the Mount by Jesus. The episode promotes prayer, overcoming fear and doing God’s will rather than our own, even in the face of present and future trouble and opposition. Jesus beautifully parries the questions the local Roman leader has for him. Later, Jesus starts teaching the disciples about saying the Lord’s Prayer. “Prayer is the first step in getting the heart and the mind right,” Jesus tells them. He tells them they must learn to pray in both good times and bad. “Reckoning” is very inspiring.

Jenkins also thanked fans for their unwavering support for the show, which has amassed over 400M views on ‘The Chosen App’ alone.

“Thank you for your patience with this season,” he shared. “The good news is, while you’ve been waiting, literally tens of millions of people around the world have discovered The Chosen, and we are optimistic Season 3 will enlarge this movement even more. Be sure to watch this entire trailer for all the info you’ll need to experience Season 3. More to come!”
