CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHOSEN to Air on CW Ahead of the Christmas Weekend

THE CHOSEN plans to air a special Christmas episode on The CW to celebrate Christmas this weekend.
The special will air on Friday, Dec. 23 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW network.
“I’m thrilled The CW is airing this Christmas episode, it’s a great introduction to The Chosen to anyone who hasn’t seen it yet. The perspective we show of this story honors the gospel narrative while also exploring the cultural, historical, and personal context that hasn’t been portrayed before,” Dallas Jenkins, creator of THE CHOSEN said in a press release.
THE CHOSEN’s Christmas Special first aired last year in theaters and featured a new episode called, THE MESSENGERS, songs from Christians artists like Phil Wickham, Maverick City Music, Brandon Lake, and more, and special devotionals presented by the cast.

CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHOSEN: THE MESSENGERS is the first theatrical release for the fully crowd-funded series, THE CHOSEN, the first multi-episode show about Jesus Christ’s life and ministry. The event features songs from Phil Wickham, Maverick City Music, for KING & COUNTRY, Brandon Lake, and other musical artists. Intermingled with the music are four Scripture-filled monologues from several of the series’ stars. THE CHOSEN’s first-ever theatrical release, CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHOSEN: THE MESSENGERS, broke box office records in its debut on Dec. 1 and became the bestselling Fathom Event release of all time.
The special event earned $8 million on opening night. It included a new episode of THE CHOSEN called THE MESSENGER and performances from prominent Christian artists such as Phil Wickham, Maverick City Music, The Bonner Family, and many more.

In just the first 12 hours of availability, THE MESSENGERS recorded the fastest out-of-the-gate sales with $1.5 million.
