Prison Fellowship and the Come and See Foundation are partnering together to provide over 300 prisons nationwide with free access to THE CHOSEN.
“This life-changing television series that has become a phenomenon around the world will soon be available to tens of thousands of incarcerated man and women on the Prison Fellowship Floodlight platform, thanks to the Come and See Foundation,” James Ackerman, President and CEO of Prison Fellowship, said. “We are more than thrilled to make this high-quality, Gospel-focused production available to those in prison. Our prayer is that it will impact more lives as it already had the more than 110 million people around the globe who have viewed the series.”
Prison Fellowship launched the Floodlight, a closed-circuit streaming service in 2020 as a way to provide prisons with high-quality Christian media. Floodlight has since been introduced into over 300 hundred prisons across the U.S. with the ability to reach over 50 thousand prisoners in 38 states. In addition to the upcoming addition of THE CHOSEN, Floodlight currently provides incarcerated men and women with access to content including Alpha, Celebrate Recovery, the Global Leadership Summit, and Courage for Life.
The Come and See Foundation was established to help THE CHOSEN reach its goal of reaching 1 billion people. They do global outreach and provide partners with the expertise needed the to spread the Gospel through THE CHOSEN.
“We are honored and excited to be partnering with Prison Fellowship so THE CHOSEN can be viewed by inmates across the country,” Stan Jantz, CEO of the Come and See Foundation, said. “We pray that those who are captive will find hope and healing through Jesus as they watch THE CHOSEN.”
Movieguide® has previously reported on the outreach work of the Come and See Foundation:
THE CHOSEN recently partnered with a nonprofit organization called Come and See Foundation to translate their TV series about the life of Jesus Christ into 600 languages worldwide.
Come and See plans to dub THE CHOSEN for 100 languages and offer subtitles for 500 more. The show is currently available on the Come and See Foundation app, which will also offer “Bible Roundtables” and other content.
“This new partnership with Come and See supercharges our efforts,” Creator and director Dallas Jenkins said. “We’re able to produce episodes bigger and faster, get them translated into more languages, and market the show on a scale previously impossible.”
“The Chosen is such a dynamic and powerful story,” Stan Jantz, CEO of the Come and See Foundation, said. “With the formation of the Come and See Foundation, our plan is to take The Chosen around the world, reaching much of the World’s population, so they are able to experience Jesus in their native tongue.”
