Post Malone on Fatherhood: ‘The Happiest I’ve Ever Been’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Post Malone says fatherhood is “the happiest I’ve ever been.”

The singer told GQ that being a dad to his daughter, born in 2022, is “great…She’s huge, she’s super tall, and she’s such a legend, and I’m just happy to see her.”

He isn’t sure yet if she is a fan of his music, saying, “She hasn’t cried whenever I put my music on so far, which I think is a good sign, but we’ll wait and find out. I got to let her decide. I tried to play her some stuff, but I can’t really tell what she’s into right now.”

Malone has not shared his daughter’s name, telling Howard Stern that he wants her to be able to “make her own decisions” regarding life in the public eye.

He also spoke about the joy he’s found in fatherhood while appearing on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

“[I’m the] happiest I’ve ever been,” Malone enthused.

He continued, “I’ve always wanted kids and like a big family.”

The rapper shared that becoming a dad has also made him more focused on his health, saying that his “new fear” is “not being able to be there for my baby…That’s why I tried to slow down on drinking, to take better care of my body.”

Malone elaborated on this in an Instagram post, writing, “i wanted to say that i’m not doing drugs, i’ve had a lot of people ask me about my weight loss and i’d suppose, performance on stage. i’m having a lot of fun performing, and have never felt healthier. i guess dad life kicked in and i decided to kick soda, and start eating better so i can be around for a long time for this little angel.”
