New Podcast Explores Dr. Tony Evans’ Life and Ministry

By Movieguide® Contributor

The new podcast “Start to Finish” will celebrate Dr. Tony Evans’ ministry and impact on people across the world.

“In a time with so many examples of institutional and leadership failure, it’s important to honor those who are finishing strong,” said Trevin Wax, North American Mission Board’s vice president of research and resource development. “Dr. Tony Evans has had an incalculable impact on the evangelical world, and there is much wisdom, insight and inspiration we can receive from the ministry impact God has accomplished through him.”

The podcast will feature Evans, coach Tony Dungy, gospel artist Kirk Franklin and Evans’ daughter and author Priscilla Shirer.

“Start to Finish” will follow Evans’ story, from his early life during the Baltimore Civil Rights Movement to his status as a household name.

“I am so humbled and honored about this podcast that kind of unveils my life, history, ministry, family, worldview and perspective,” Evans said of the podcast. “It’s a privilege to be able to share with others who I am, where God has brought me from and hopefully where He is taking me to in whatever time He gives me in life and ministry.”

The podcast’s producer, Kevin Spratt, praised Evans’ “consistency of character,” calling it “one of the most inspiring aspects of Dr. Evans’ life and ministry.”

“Our team has conducted more than 20 hours of interviews with more than 20 people throughout every stage of Dr. Evans’s life and ministry; everyone we have interviewed has consistently described him in the same way,” he said. “His life reflects God’s heavenly constituency on earth. He is a humble, hardworking man of integrity.”

Another one of Evans’ recent projects is the documentary JOURNEY WITH JESUS, which sees him and his family retrace Jesus’ steps through the Holy Land.

“Sharing with people on screen the real places of Jesus where eternity-changing events occurred is a monumental opportunity,” Evans said in a statement about the movie. “I hope the power of Christ will be communicated and people will learn to praise Him in the midst of their problems, praise Him amid challenges, praise Him for His Glory and then serve the Lord with gladness.”

The “Start to Finish” podcast is posted every Thursday and can be found on all major podcast streaming platforms.

Movieguide® previously reported on JOURNEY WITH JESUS:

Popular speaker and teacher Dr. Tony Evans brings his family along in his faith-filled directorial debut, JOURNEY WITH JESUS.

“The movie was designed to give people a visual experience of Jesus’s life and ministry in the land where it took place,” Evans tells Movieguide® of the documentary.

“When you when you are there, the Bible becomes alive, it becomes a living experience,” he continued. “It is already alive, but it becomes alive in terms of it touching your mind, your heart, your soul, because you’re walking with Jesus. We walk on the Sea of Galilee, where He did all so many miracles. It’s alive in a unique sense when you can use technology and the visual to bring that picture in people’s hearts and minds. It just helps to solidify an existing faith and strengthen a weaker one.”
