Chuck E. Cheese is Getting a Game Show for Adults

A Chuck E. Cheese game show is in the works, but kids won’t be the competitors. Instead, fully grown adults will compete in mega-sized Chuck E. Cheese-fashioned games to win Chuck E. Cheese-style prizes.

“Adults, [AKA ‘big kids’] will compete in pairs, playing outsized versions of games from the restaurant, including pinball, air hockey, alley roller and the human claw. The competitors with the most tickets will have the chance to exchange their tickets for prizes off a massive version of the iconic Chuck E. Cheese’s prize wall,” Relevant reported.

Magical Elves, the same production company that made TOP CHEF and NAILED IT, will produce the new game show.

Hypebeast said, “Magical Elves co-CEOs Jo Sharon and Casey Kriley released a statement, ‘Chuck E. Cheese is THE place where a kid can be a kid — but as grown adults, we still have dreams of ruling the arcade, taking on the iconic games we love! We’re excited to celebrate these legendary arcade games plus the best of today, all with a super-sized twist.’”

WTRF observed that Magical Elves’ press release did not indicate when or where the show would be available.

As strange as the show idea might be, unusual game shows have started to emerge recently. Relevant concurs: “From Netflix’s FLOOR IS LAVA to ABC’s HOLEY MOLEY, TBS’ WIPEOUT to Peacock’s FROGGER, outlandish adult competition shows has become a thing in recent years.”

Movieguide® recently reported on another game show that’s underway, Hasbro’s GUESS WHO?:

Hasbro’s classic game “Guess Who?” is headed to TV in an unscripted game show adaptation on NBC.

The live game show, produced by Hasbro’s Entertainment One (eOne) and Endemol Shine North America, will “feature contestants making snap judgments based on intuition and clues in an effort to win cash prizes in each episode,” TheWrap reported
