Kirk Cameron Fights Immoral Literature in Schools with Family-Friendly Book Fairs
By Movieguide® Contributor
To combat the proliferation of books that promote immoral content through schools, Kirk Cameron has started Sky Tree Book Fairs to celebrate family-friendly books.
“We see that there is such an avalanche of filth and material that’s twisting the minds of children about the most basic things of reality and families, genders, faith, what is American,” Cameron told CBN.
“We all grew up with Scholastic, everyone, as the publisher of these great books, and ‘Clifford the Big Red Dog’ and ‘Stuart Little’ and ‘James and the Giant Peach’ and all the fun little crossword puzzles,” he explained. “Well, their book fairs are now filled with the kind of progressive, socialist Marxist material that is undermining God, family, and the country.”
“We’ve decided to go after the head of the snake and find out who is filling libraries and schools with sexually explicit and gender-confusing material,” he said last year. “The head of the snake, the dealer of all of this is Scholastic Books, the largest producer of children’s books in America.”
Cameron’s Sky Tree Book Fairs aims to bring these wholesome, worthwhile books back into schools to combat the immorality spread by Scholastic. His efforts have been met with appreciation from thousands of parents and teachers, leading to numerous schools replacing their Scholastic book fairs with Sky Tree Book Fairs.
Movieguide® reported on Sky Tree Book Fairs last November:
Author and actor Kirk Cameron just launched a new program to provide books without sexualized content to schools across the nation.
“SkyTree Book Fairs was recently founded as a direct challenge…to Scholastic Book Fairs, an entity that enjoys a near-monopoly on school book-fair programs across the United States,” Fox News reported.
“You can replace these harmful Scholastic book fairs with helpful, wholesome book fairs with 500 books that have been vetted and screened to take out all the nasty pornography and the critical race theory and the race stuff and they’re about wholesome good values,” Cameron said, noting, “we already have over a thousand schools, public and private that are replacing Scholastic book fairs.”
“What if this national setback that we’re experiencing… is actually a divine setup for a spiritual comeback?” he said previously. “[Spiritual revivals are] always happening during times of spiritual apathy, moral decline, political corruption, economic collapse. I think we’re there and this could be the church’s finest hour. I’m so excited to be here at this time on the stage of the world placed by a sovereign God.”
Not wanting to stop at books, the actor is also launching a new children’s show to teach kids strong values.
“Our kids are having an identity crisis in our country,” he said. “They don’t know who they are. They don’t know where they are. They don’t understand right from wrong or even if they’re a boy or a girl.”
“So, we want to tell stories that are going to give kids their identity in Christ,” Cameron continued. “They’re going to teach them values. Think of MR. ROGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD only modernized with hilarious dialogue, beautiful animation, and it’s called ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK.”
“Too much of children’s television content today is mind-numbing, cringy, or full of just downright harmful messages,” ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KIRK’s website reads. The show “is a groundbreaking live-action children’s TV show that will not only entertain your children but also build their character at the same time.”
“I’m Mr. Kirk and my little sidekick is an iguana named Iggy and he is being puppeteered by a world-renowned creator of puppets who worked with Jim Henson and the Muppets on SESAME STREET,” he added.

Kirk Cameron and Brave Books are joining forces to create safe and wholesome television content for children.
“I have partnered with Brave Books, and together we are making a brand new, one-of-a-kind children’s television program,” Cameron announced on Instagram.
“This show is called ADVENTURES WITH IGGY AND MR. KRIK,” he said. “And it’s so cool because it’s a live-action children’s show. So think of like the timeless biblical, moral values of MR. ROGER’S NEIGHBORHOOD, only greatly modernized, high energy, with embedded beautiful, animated stories inside.”
Through this program, he hopes to combat the depravity that is taking over children’s minds today.
