Chynna Phillips Turning Her ‘Worries into Prayers’ Ahead of Surgery

Chynna Phillips Turning Her ‘Worries into Prayers’ Ahead of Surgery

Chynna Phillips is trusting Jesus as she prepares to undergo surgery to remove a 14-inch tumor from the inside of her leg.

ā€œI’ve had [the tumor] since I was a little girl,ā€ she said. ā€œThey don’t know if I was born with it or not. It’s totally benign, but it is large, and I’m talking very, very large. It’s like 14 inches long and 4 inches wide.ā€

Though the doctors have determined that it is best to remove the tumor, Phillips revealed that she is scared of the surgery because she despises being put under anesthesia.

ā€œI’m absolutely petrified of anesthesia, and I don’t know, I just feel like it’s the closest thing to death going under; I mean, it actually is,ā€ she said. ā€œIt’s the closest thing to being dead, which is probably not the best way for me to be processing anesthesia, but I can’t help it. I’ve had it so many times.ā€

ā€œLook, I’m not complaining, I’m just saying I’ve had lots of surgeries,ā€ Phillips continued. ā€œI’m sick of it. I don’t like anesthesia, and I’m just kind of going in kicking and screaming. I’ve got to start praying about this and turning my worries into prayers.ā€

ā€œI know that Jesus can help me with this if I radically surrender, you know. But it sucks they have to make a brand-new incision, and I already have a huge 1-foot scar on my left leg, and now I’m going to have one on the interior of my left leg,ā€ she added.

As in all things, Phillips is giving this surgery to the Lord, trusting that He will protect her and allow it to be performed safely.

ā€œIt’s just frustrating, but it’s all going to work out just fine. In Jesus’ name, amen,ā€ she said.

Phillips frequently speaks about her faith on social media.

In one post, she shared this quote: ā€œI told God: I’m done. He replied: Good. Now I can begin.ā€Ā

“Oof this hit home ?,” she added in the caption.

In another post, she reminded her followers of Christ’s deep love for them through a quote from Timothy Keller.

“If you were a hundred times worse than you are, your sins would be no match for his mercy,” she quoted.

Please keep Phillips in your prayers as she undergoes this surgery.

Two years ago, Grammy-nominated singer and actress Chynna Phillips began her ā€œCalifornia Preachinā€ series on her YouTube, where she shares the message of salvation through Jesus.

In Phillips’s most recent video, she encourages her subscribers to find the love of Christ and show it to others.

ā€œI’m going to put my love lenses on today to see things through the power of love – to see things through Christ,ā€ Phillips said. ā€œEverything can be seen through the eyes of love. The Bible said that God is love. If God is love then we should be able to see everything through the lenses of love.ā€

Phillips conceded that obeying God’s will and not following human desires is difficult but essential for a fulfilled life.
