- Content: JEOPARDY! Secures New Streaming Series on Prime Video

JEOPARDY! is coming to Prime Video.
“Sony Pictures Television is producing POP CULTURE JEOPARDY!, which turns the classic academic quiz show with three challengers into a team-based trivia game that touches on music, movies, culture, sports, celebrities, entertainment, and more,” The Verge reported.
The press release for the new series explained that “POP CULTURE JEOPARDY! is a brand-new twist on the classic quiz show’s ‘answer-and-question’ format that combines the academic rigor of JEOPARDY! with the excitement and unpredictability of pop culture.”
“Contestants, playing in teams of three, will need to be experts in categories from Alternative Rock to The Avengers; Broadway to MMA; Gen Z to Zendaya as they compete in a tournament-style event for the grand prize and ultimate bragging rights,” the statement continued.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to collaborate with our partners at Amazon to make Prime Video the home for our new JEOPARDY! spinoff series,” said Suzanne Prete, President of Game Shows at Sony Pictures Television. “With Michael Davies at the helm, POP CULTURE JEOPARDY! is going to be a nail biter for game show enthusiasts who can expect to see teams competing at the highest level of JEOPARDY! combined with a fresh twist of pop culture Olympics for the mind…it’s going to be a must-watch for longtime viewers and new fans alike.”
Lauren Anderson, head of AVOD originals unscripted and targeted programming at Amazon MGM Studios, added, “POP CULTURE JEOPARDY! is its own cultural moment, marking the first time the iconic franchise will premiere exclusively on a streaming service. With a team-based approach and pop-culture focus, our global Prime Video customers will exclusively experience this innovative spin on JEOPARDY! while testing their knowledge on topics that both define and transcend generations.”
Prime Video has yet to announce a host or release date for the series.

Ken Jennings has hosted JEOPARDY! alongside Mayim Bialik since the death of Alex Trebek in 2020. Now, Jennings will be the sole host of JEOPARDY! and CELEBRITY JEOPARDY!.
He talked with the Hollywood Reporter about Bialik’s exit and what it means for him to be the only JEOPARDY! host.
“The winningest contestant in JEOPARDY! history, Jennings was named the syndicated program’s permanent co-host last year alongside Mayim Bialik, with the two of them splitting hosting duties on the daily syndicated show and on its primetime specials,” the Hollywood Reporter said. “On Dec. 15 Bialik revealed that she would no longer be hosting the syndicated edition of the program, with Jennings set to take over that program on a full-time basis.”
