More Detail:

Season 3 of HOT WHEELS: LET’S RACE, streaming on Netflix, follows the Hot Wheels team as they work together, compete in races, and try to win against the villain Cruise. The overall quality is good, with high-action elements and vivid colors. The show has a biblical/moral worldview, as the Hot Wheels team are hard workers who encourage one another to have good sportsmanship and play fair. However, it does contain light violence, and the antagonists pride themselves on being evil.

In Episode One, the team prepares to race, choosing their race cars with a high-tech holograph selector. Coop encourages his friends and says, “Be a good sport, no trash talk.” When they begin to race, they try to beat Cruise, a rude girl who doesn’t play fair, with the help of her dad. She doesn’t speak kindly and uses a unique feature called ‘track blasters’ to build a track in front of her as she drives and provides shortcuts. She wins the race because she’s a cheater. Coop tries to be a good sport and congratulates her, but she denies his congratulations and brags about how she won.

Later, the team uses a trick on their cars called the ‘super air sprayer,’ which sprays the vehicles and allows them to fly. The sprayer accidentally sprays other objects, including people, and everyone floats away. The team turns the air sprayer off, and everyone falls to the ground. Luckily, no one was hurt.

In Episode Two, a monster truck named Mega Rex comes to meet the Hot Wheels team to train them so they can overcome Cruise’s track blasters. Mac wants to impress Mega Rex but accidentally traps them inside a building. They smash through a door to escape.

Later, the team feels discouraged about their chances of beating Cruise, so they train harder. They must catch Big T, a giant T-Rex truck. Meanwhile, Cruise’s dad, Professor Rearview, watches them from a hot air balloon and is excited about his ‘evil plan.’ He throws the ‘Car Controller 9000’ onto Big T, which controls it and turns it against the racers. The racers retrieve the device and destroy it. Big T pops the hot air balloon, and Professor Rearview flies away.

In episode 3, Coop’s mom races with the team to help them train. They encounter several mishaps while preparing for a party that evening but work together to solve the issues. Later, the team races against Cruise in a fight for the Ultimate Garage. Cruise uses her track blasters to get ahead, but Coop uses his fire wings to catch up. Coop barely wins the race, but ultimately, Cruise wins because she gains flag points along the way.

There is some light violence with the cars, but no one gets hurt. This show is worthwhile, but discretion is advised for young children.
