TODAY host Dylan Dreyer is praying for co-host Sheinelle Jones following her current leave of absence from the show.
“She’s doing all right,” Dreyer told E! News while attending this year’s Kentucky Derby. “She’s hanging in there. We’re praying for her and her family. You know, she’s just going through a tough time with her family.”
The meteorologist continued, “We talk to her every day. One of us on the team talks to her every single day, and we’re there to support her, and we’ll welcome her back with open arms the second she can get back to us.”
Jones last appeared on TODAY in December. In a January Instagram post, she told fans, “I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter.”
“I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while I’ve been absent from the show,” she continued. “I want to share with you that I’m taking time to deal with a family health matter. It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not only the support of my TODAY Show family, but to also have all of you.”
While she’s out, Sheinelle Jones is still staying in close contact with the rest of the TODAY team. During an episode of TODAY’s 3rd Hour, co-host Craig Melvin said, “I just talked to her a couple days ago — she’s taking some time to be with her family and we talk to her all the time. We love our girl. It’s been nice to see how much everyone else loves her, too.”

Dreyer said that, while they all miss her, Jones is “doing what she needs to do.” Al Roker added, “We’re just praying for her.”
Fellow TODAY star Willie Geist also shared his support for Jones while attending “A Country Thing Happened on the Way to Cure Parkinson’s,” telling PEOPLE, “I cannot wait to see Sheinelle again. We’re giving her all the time she needs.”
Geist said there’s no pressure on Jones to return, but the rest of the TODAY team are hoping to see her soon.
“She’s dealing with a family matter or private matter, and she is such a valued member of our family,” he continued. “We want to just be there for her and whenever she feels ready to come back and sit with the group, we’ll give her the biggest hug she ever got.”
Fans of Sheinelle Jones are joining her TODAY co-workers in praying for her during this hard time and hope she will be back on the morning show soon.
