Apple recently unveiled a series of new accessibility features, including a tool that will allow users to clone their voice in just one minute.

“At Apple, accessibility is part of our DNA,” Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, said in a press release about iOS 19’s new features. “Making technology for everyone is a priority for all of us, and we’re proud of the innovations we’re sharing this year. That includes tools to help people access crucial information, explore the world around them, and do what they love.”

One of those new tools? A voice-cloning feature that, with just 10 spoken phrases, can create an imitation of someone’s voice in 60 seconds.

Apple is calling the voice-cloning tool an accessibility feature, made with people who are at risk of losing their ability to speak in mind.

This isn’t the only feature designed for people who have accessibility issues. Apple is also introducing “a new system-wide Accessibility Reader tool on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro will make text easier to read for users with low vision or dyslexia,” as well as Live Captions that will transcribe iPhone conversations and Braille Access on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple Vision Pro,” per MacRumors.

These features will be highlighted with Apple’s new “Accessibility Nutrition Labels,” which will let users know if an app will be accessible to them before they download it.

Eric Bridges, the American Foundation for the Blind’s president and CEO, said, “Accessibility Nutrition Labels are a huge step forward for accessibility. Consumers deserve to know if a product or service will be accessible to them from the very start, and Apple has a long-standing history of delivering tools and technologies that allow developers to build experiences for everyone. These labels will give people with disabilities a new way to easily make more informed decisions and make purchases with a new level of confidence.”

“Building on 40 years of accessibility innovation at Apple, we are dedicated to pushing forward with new accessibility features for all of our products,” Sarah Herrlinger, Apple’s senior director of Global Accessibility Policy and Initiatives, explained. “Powered by the Apple ecosystem, these features work seamlessly together to bring users new ways to engage with the things they care about most.”

Times Now News reported that users will most likely have access to iOS 19 in June.

The outlet also reported that, in addition to these new accessibility features, “insiders claim iOS 19 could bring a visual overhaul inspired by visionOS.”

This would include “redesigned icons, updated menus, and smoother interactions,” as well as “cleaner layouts” for the Message and Camera apps to allow for more usable screen space.

Apple’s exciting new accessibility tools are sure to be popular with users around the world who can now use their Apple products more comfortably.
