REACHER actor Alan Ritchson is sharing what he thinks the world would be like if more believed in Jesus.
“I look out in the world, and I see what seems like wickedness winning all the time,” he shared in a recent YouTube video. “Like it seems like evil and wickedness and selfishness and pride and greed and all the things that we should despise as human beings are taking root in a way that…it seems on a win streak, and it seems like a daunting thing to think that good can ever triumph.”
But he believes that if more people were Christians, we wouldn’t see so much evil prevail.
“I mean, imagine for a moment, like, what if a million people shared this, like, self-sacrificial love ethos that Jesus had and, like, that rippled outwards and all the little pockets of the world, you know?” he asked. “I mean, truly the kingdom of heaven would come here and now. And that’s the promise that Jesus, the good news that Jesus talks about in the Bible, is that the kingdom is here.”
He called on listeners to not be afraid of what people think and share the Gospel boldly.
“We undermine power structures that are abusive and with love and kindness, you know, we like just set boundaries for ourselves in a way that it sets an example for ourselves and others of like what Christlike living is like,” he said. “Self-sacrificial love everywhere and demand it in our world. What would that world look like?”
He noted that there’s a wonderful kind of power in serving others and following Christ, as the Holy Spirit lives in believers.
“When things seem daunting and impossible and like wicked will always win, you are called to step out in the world and be an agent of change. And the promise is you are equipped with everything you need in Christ,” he finished.

In another video, Ritchson talked about Jesus’ behavior. He was usually patient and very generous and loving. But today, many Christians approach political disagreements and other issues with rudeness and a lack of understanding.
He previously said he is frustrated with other Christians for being critical and not more like Jesus.
“I’m a Christian quite simply because of what Jesus calls us to do. Love other people until death. It doesn’t mean we’re all to be hung on a cross, but how can I suffer for you? That is a beautiful thing,” he told The Hollywood Reporter.
Ritchson has a point. Christians are called to act like Jesus. It’s a high ask — but a very important one.
