TikTok launched TikTok for Artists, a tool that provides a plethora of information about how musicians’ songs perform on the platform.
“TikTok is already well known for being the world’s best platform for music discovery and promotion, and with the launch of TikTok for Artists, all tiers of artists will gain insights on TikTok that they can use to take their careers to a whole new level,” said TikTok’s head of music, Tracy Gardner. “We built the platform to give artists transparent access to useful, actionable data about their music and their fans, to help them better engage with the TikTok community and supercharge their careers both on and off the platform.”
The new tool promises to help artists increase their exposure, build connections and drive engagement, while also providing performance data and insight into the demographics that are listening to your music.
TikTok also announced a “Pre-Release” tool that will allow artists to promote upcoming projects and allow their fans to save upcoming albums directly to their Apple Music or Spotify accounts, making them instantly available upon release.
The release of these tools comes after TikTok scrapped plans to create its own standalone music streaming platform – TikTok Music.
“We will be closing TikTok Music at the end of November in order to focus on our goal of furthering TikTok’s role in driving even greater music listening and value on music streaming services, for the benefit of artists, songwriters and the industry,” Ole Obermann, the global head of music business development at TikTok said last September.
Meanwhile, TikTok’s future in the U.S. remains a mystery as the twice-pushed back divestment deadline of June 19 quickly approaches. President Trump, however, has already signaled that he may move the date of the ban further back if needed.

“My Administration has been working very hard on a Deal to SAVE TIKTOK, and we have made tremendous progress,” Trump wrote when announcing the second deadline delay in April. “The Deal requires more work to ensure all necessary approvals are signed, which is why I am signing an Executive Order to keep TikTok up and running for an additional 75 days.”
However the future of TikTok ends up playing out, it is clear that the app continues to drive the music industry, and the platform hopes to help artists grow to ever higher heights through tools like TikTok for Artists.
