DUCK DYNASTY’s Bella Mayo, formerly Bella Robertson, is opening up about her infertility journey with her sister Sadie Robertson Huff.

“I think just the whole ‘Oh, don’t worry about it!’ can be insensitive,” Mayo told Huff in a recent clip from Huff’s podcast. “The loneliness of when someone else gets pregnant, it’s like that’s one more person, you know.”

Huff admired her sister for sharing about her journey and told her that because she shared, so many people who are going through the same thing can sympathize and relate to her.

“You are giving them the hope that they are not alone,” Huff told her.

Mayo married her spouse, Jacob, four years ago this month. She runs a clothing store with her husband in Monroe, Louisiana, called General Vintage.

“I think a lot of people wait till after they’re through something to share about it and so it was a very big decision to choose to do this now and not wait until, hopefully, this season ends,” Mayo explained. “In not finding answers, we found a lot of faith and a lot of strength in Christ. I didn’t want my life or my story to be defined by this one situation.”

Jacob told US Weekly last month, “I think what we’ve learned in marriage…is that I wish getting pregnant and having kids was as easy as people act like it is. Just, ‘Oh, I can just pop out a kid’ or ‘If we want to wait, we get to choose to wait.’ It’s not that transactional of a thing.”

Huff said that she was proud of Mayo because she understands that it’s hard to share something that’s so painful.

“She’s allowing her story to speak into so many others, and I believe it’s going to relate to so many,” Huff said.

Judging by the comments, Mayo’s story certainly did.

HGTV star Jenny Marrs, who also struggled with infertility, said, “Your vulnerability and courage is beautiful and I know I can speak for everyone watching this: I wish I could jump through the screen and hug you. Infertility is one the hardest, loneliest, most difficult and brutal paths to walk.”

“I’m so deeply sorry it’s a part of your journey. @bellarobmayo – your story doesn’t end here. I know God will use all of this pain. Somehow, someway. The story isn’t over yet. Praying for you and Jacob ❤️,” she said.

Another person commented, “Just this clip made me cry. I feel her pain. The longing for motherhood. I also went through 3 heartbreaking miscarriages and now I have 3 beautiful kids. There is healing. There is a path He has laid out. God Bless you both!”

Mayo displayed vulnerability and strength by speaking out about her trials. Through it all, she and her husband are staying faithful and hopeful.
