More Detail:
Dot Conner loves a mystery. Her specialty is Biblical mysteries, which she solves through reading Scripture, then shares with her online fans in a series of videos. Something Dot doesn’t love is that her first day of high school is tomorrow – and that, after a weird phone call, her dad is nowhere to be found.
Dot and pals Alex and Makayla tackle high school, but it doesn’t go so well for Dot. From no classes with her friends, to a chemistry class accident, to some bullying over her hobby as a biblical webtective, high school is looking like a major mystery to Dot.
So, Dot puts her sleuthing skills to work. She searches Scripture to find information about what to do when you’re feeling like things are out of your control. This research gets sidetracked when she and her friends receive a message from her dad with a set of coordinates.
This sets Dot, Alex and Makayla off on a cross-city search as they go looking for clues about what her father is sending them out to find. They eventually end up in a church, where they find a flash drive. However, before they can figure out what it might contain, the bad guys show up and demand the drive.
The children run, but the villains capture Makayla. She joins Dot’s father whom they are holding hostage. They try to get him to divulge the information on the drive. Dot and Alex quickly mount a rescue mission. Everyone gets home safely, but Dot is shocked to find out that not only is her dad a spy, but her grandmother also runs the agency who hired him.
The two explain to Dot that the drive contains the names of sleeper agents around the country, one of whom is in Dot’s school. They enlist her help to nab the spy. However, before they can make an arrest, Dot is kidnapped.
Dot must put her detective skills and biblical knowledge to the test to defeat the bad guys.
