Lauren Daigle recently stopped in D.C. — not to sing — but to advocate for the STOP CSAM Act.

The bill fights the “sexual exploitation of children by supporting victims and promoting accountability and transparency by the tech industry,” Crosswalk reported.

It would strengthen the CyberTipline so that it’s easier to report harmful content and get it removed.

“At a young age, I was revolted by the idea that children are being harmed around the world and now we have an opportunity to do something about it,” Daigle told Fox News. “A lot of predators are here, and they can sexually exploit children around the world, which is really, really tough.”

“This act is honestly just to bring big tech to the forefront and say, ‘Hey, you have the resources to help us stop this problem.’ It’s worldwide. It’s a global issue, and it’s using apps that you and I use every single day,” the Christian singer said.

She encouraged others to support International Justice Mission, a charity that supports the bill and provides abuse reporting resources.

Sen. John Kennedy joined Daigle in D.C.

“There ought to be consequences for monsters who commit crimes against children and any Big Tech company that isn’t doing their part to keep kids safe,” Kennedy said. “I’m grateful to know that victims have strong advocates like Lauren Daigle in their corner. Lauren is beloved by Louisiana and her hard work makes us proud.”

“I think both sides of the aisle can agree on how important it is to protect our children,” Daigle said. “I came to Washington today to urge Congress to pass the STOP CSAM Act, bi-partisan legislation that will fight human trafficking and online child sexual abuse material. I leave with a feeling of hope and optimism, and my sincere appreciation for the time that I was given on the Hill, especially by my fellow Louisianan, Senator Kennedy.”

In April, Kennedy introduced his Targeting Child Predators Act. The bill would make it easier for law enforcement to investigate suspects, KLFY reported.

This is the second time Daigle visited Washington D.C. this year. In July, she sang at the Capitol building for the annual “A Capitol Fourth” celebration.

“What a joy to celebrate freedom and unity with this beautiful country!! 🇺🇸 ✨” she wrote on Instagram at the time.

In February, Daigle and football player Demario Davis raised awareness and support for the fight against human trafficking. They hosted SBLIX Night of Freedom, where Daigle gave a private performance in support of the cause.
