Lauren Daigle shared her plans to pray and fast for the rest of September in response to the Charlie Kirk shooting and the unrest sweeping across our country.
“It’s horrific that our country is in such a polarized state that we believe the ruthless killing of someone is greater than sorting our disagreements. What have we become? Is this barbaric behavior what our forefathers gave their lives for?…” Daigle said on Instagram. “It’s not party against party. We are in a spiritual battle. Good versus evil. Light verses dark. ‘For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places,’ Ephesians 6:12 says. IT IS TIME TO PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD AND BATHE IN SCRIPTURE.”
“As I have taken time to ask God what to do, I felt very hopeless. He quickly reminded me that when He was asked, ‘How do we cast these demons out?’, His answer was fasting and praying…” she continued. “My plan is to read scripture and pray on my Instagram every day for the remainder of September. Fasting is supernatural. When the world seems too heavy, it is the antidote to breakthrough. Don’t forget: GOD IS SOVEREIGN.”

“Feel free to join me in the fight against despair, hopelessness, confusion and sorrow!” Daigle added. “Fasting and prayer is the battle cry.”
To start her prayer and fasting, Daigle took to Instagram to share Esther 1 with her fans.
In the days since Kirk was shot and killed while speaking on a college campus as a part of his American Comeback Tour, many celebrities with a variety of political views have used their platforms to call for unity across the country.
Has your faith been challenged since the Charlie Kirk Shooting?
“A lot of people have been saying, ‘Hey, we need to bring the temperature down,’ and certainly that’s true in the short term. But we need to go deeper than that,” said THE OFFICE’s Rainn Wilson. “We need to build bridges of love and unity, especially between those we disagree with. As Arthur Brooks says, we need to learn how to disagree better, and still know that we all love our country, and we all want to build a better tomorrow. We just have very different ideas of how to do that.”
“My heart is with Charlie Kirk’s family, and with the United States,” added Arnold Schwarzenegger. “Politics has become a disease in this country, and it’s deadly. But don’t listen to the pessimists who say there is no cure. There is a cure. It is inside of us. We must find our better angels and walk back from the extremes.”
While Kirk’s death has been a true tragedy, it is amazing to see how so many people have been inspired by his faith and are turning to the Lord during these times.
