BRINGING UP BATES’ Erin Bates Paine and her husband Chad updated fans on the birth process of their youngest child in a new video.

“Today is definitely going to be the day,” Erin said in one clip, posted to the couple’s Instagram page, that shows the drive to the hospital.

The rest of the video shows clips of different parts of Erin’s labor and birth. She welcomed son Henry on Aug. 27 but suffered complications that led to a lengthy hospitalization.

“Her labor was longer and more intense than previous births. She has been fighting through it and has been such a light and sweet testimony of grace to nurses, staff, and doctors alike. We are all moved by her kindness and gratefulness in the midst of pain,” Chad shared in an Instagram post. “Erin developed a severe UTI and kidney infection, which sent her into septic shock. She is currently still in the ICU as doctors continue to treat, diagnose, and search for answers.”

In another post, he wrote, “The hours have been long and heavy, and I know many hearts are aching to see her this way, along with mine. We hold on to faith that healing is coming, even in the midst of the unknown. Your prayers are felt and we are forever grateful.”

Erin spent three weeks in the hospital, which the couple documented in their new video. In one segment, viewers can see Erin FaceTiming with the couple’s kids with their new sibling, asking them, “Can you see the baby?”

In an Instagram post, the couple shared, “After almost three weeks in the hospital, I have never been so thankful to finally head home to our babies. We don’t have all the answers yet, and I still don’t have function in my right leg, but we are choosing to count every blessing — especially the gift of being together again. Your prayers have carried us through and mean the world to our family.”

The couple’s followers have been sending support and prayers to the Paines as they have navigated this time.

“I am so sorry Erin is still going through some challenges! Glad you guys are home! I will continue to pray for complete healing!” one fan wrote. Another commented, “Erin and Chad, I wanna say thank you for sharing this and letting the world know that this kind of thing can happen. I pray for continued healing.”

Erin’s brother Lawson also commented, writing, “We love you guys so much. Continuing to lift you up in prayer.”

Please continue to keep Erin, Chad and their family in your prayers as she continues the recovery process.
