Rapper Nicki Minaj spoke out in support of President Donald Trump after he made clear his position regarding the Christian persecution taking place in Nigeria.

The remarks have sparked global attention and have stirred debate around religious persecution.

“If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria and may very well go into that now disgraced country, ‘guns-a-blazing,’ to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities,” the President said. “I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”

In another post, Trump wrote, “Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter.”

Minaj shared a screenshot of the post to X with her own personal response.

“Reading this made me feel a deep sense of gratitude. We live in a country where we can freely worship God,” she said. “No group should ever be persecuted for practicing their religion. We don’t have to share the same beliefs in order for us to respect each other.”

“Numerous countries all around the world are being affected by this horror & it’s dangerous to pretend we don’t notice,” Minaj continued. “Thank you to The President & his team for taking this seriously. God bless every persecuted Christian. Let’s remember to lift them up in prayer.”

Many people responded to her post.

“Who had Nicki Minaj as being such a BRAVE fighter for religious freedom on their 2025 Bingo card?” one person said. “You know the ‘loving’ and ‘inclusive’ Leftists are going to eviserate her for this act of bravery. May God not only protect all Christians being persecuted in Nigeria and around the world, but Ms. Minaj as well.”

Wow. Thank you for posting this,” online personality Zuby wrote.

The Christian Post reported that in recent years, more Christians “are killed in Nigeria for their faith annually than in all other countries combined,” per Open Door.

“We are deeply grateful for this important recognition,” Shawn Wright, president of International Christian Concern, said. “It represents a significant step toward mobilizing the global community to confront the atrocities that have devastated so many families and communities in Nigeria. Our prayer is that this designation will encourage other world leaders to follow suit and that it will lead to tangible actions that bring relief and lasting change for those suffering at the hands of violent extremists.”

In John 15:18-19, Jesus reminds us that Christians aren’t alone in their suffering: “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world.”

As the persecution of Christians continues, let’s continue to be in prayer for those suffering.
