Colorado Buffalos head coach Deion Sanders teamed up with some big names in Hollywood to get closer to the Lord this Lenten season.

“Look, y’all, I’ve been looking for a while now to find ways to get closer to God. Wow. I gotta get closer. I just need that intimacy. I just need that together, that unity, all of that,” Sanders said in a video shared on Instagram. “I finally found it, and it’s just in time for Lent.”

“It’s the Hallow app. That’s right, I said it. It’s the Hallow app. I’m joining my friends, Mark Wahlberg, Chris Pratt and a whole lot more who are trying to help us stay prayed up, baby,” the former NFL star continued. “Join us for Hallow’s live challenge to pray every day for 40 days, leading right up to Easter. Download the Hallow app today. It’s gonna bless you.”

Marvel star Chris Pratt also encouraged his followers to take their relationship with God seriously during this time.

“Hey, guys. Chris Pratt here. Now you all know about the Hallow prayer app. Well, this Lent, we’re doing something pretty incredible. It’s a 40-day prayer challenge for every day of Lent with Jonathan Roumie, Mark Wahlberg, Father Mike Schmitz, of course, yours truly,” Pratt said in a video.

“Mark and I will be leading us through weekly fasting challenges to make sure that we make this Lent our best one yet,” he continued. “Are you ready? You know the power of prayer. Join me and millions of others in praying every day. Stay prayed up.”

In the caption, he added that the challenge is all about “Focused prayer. Intentional sacrifice. [And] loving even when it’s hard.”

Wahlberg shared, “If we’re gonna pray every day this Lent, if we’re going to give our hearts and our minds and our souls and our bodies completely to the Lord, we first have to let go. We have to let go of everything that’s holding us down to this world. This world is not one of freedom.”

“It’s a reminder that I need to do more, and I need to be better,” he added in an interview with Fox News about Lent. “There’s things that are in my life that are distracting and take me away from my focus on building my relationship and getting closer to God. Of course, living that purpose-filled life that He chose for me.”

This Lent, let’s all take some time to be with God and reflect on what He has done for us.
