Legendary baker Mary Berry shared her most memorable Christmas moments in her new special, A MARY BERRY CHRISTMAS.

Every year, she puts oranges in her kids’ stockings — but one year, that didn’t fly.

“One year, my son was in Australia for Christmas, and we went to join him” Berry said, “and in the customs I was drawn to one side.”

“You are not allowed to import fruit into Australia, my husband was so cross with me! He rarely gets cross with me,” the 90-year-old continued. “But I didn’t know — we were going to arrive, and I wanted it to be traditional.”

The GREAT BRITISH BAKE OFF star has some less naughty Christmas memories, too.

“Every year when the children were little, we’d take them to see the lights,” she said. “It was such a treat, holding their little hands. They’d all look up in amazement, and then we’d all come back and have fish and chips.”

Christmas lights are one of her favorite traditions, as is a the theater and carol concerts.

“This year, I’m off to enjoy the classic children’s story, The Snowman,” Mary said.

“The Christmas carol service is a tradition close to my heart,” she added, “and the atmosphere inside St. Paul’s is truly breathtaking. What an honor to be part of it.”

A MERRY BERRY CHRISTMAS’s description reads, “Mary Berry celebrated her 90th birthday this year but she shows no sign of slowing down in the kitchen this Christmas. Pigs in blankets cassoulet, cherry and lemon millefeuille, and a pear and ginger steamed pudding are all on her menu, as she is joined by Alison Steadman, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and Zoe Ball. Berry also needs to pick a Christmas tree – and so she sets off for Windsor Great Park.”

A MARY BERRY CHRISTMAS aired on Dec. 17 in the UK on BBC One, but Woman and Home says U.S. viewers can watch the episode through a VPN service and then playing it through BBC iPlayer.

“Christmas is a time to enjoy the family and make the home really beautiful,” Berry told The Times.

The baker said, “I’ve had so much fun this year cooking with old and new friends for my series and this Christmas special is the icing on the cake.” She added, “To have Alison, Harry and Zoe join me to make a range of delicious recipes for all kinds of festive occasions is simply joyful.”
