Ginnifer Goodwin couldn’t wait to work on ZOOTOPIA 2 — a movie that promoted strong morals and had good characters for young viewers to look up to.
“I am personally tired of spending my free time, my relaxation time watching despicable characters do despicable things. So I do find that as time goes on, I end up wanting to watch the same things that I’m good with my kids watching,” Goodwin told Movieguide®. “I want them to go on really fun rides and not even realize that they’re, like, gleaning wonderful lessons.”

“And I love that [for] movies like ZOOTOPIA, we can go to the movie theater, ‘cause I’m also hardcore about, like, see these movies in movie theaters and get in the car with you kids on the way home, like, what questions did this bring up?” she continued. “And we really do, like, sort of swim through all of it.”
ZOOTOPIA 2 certainly delivered on Goodwin’s desire to work on uplifting content as the movie offers audiences a story with many strong Christian lessons. A portion of Movieguide®’s review reads:
ZOOTOPIA 2 is an action packed, heartwarming fantasy adventure with loads of laughs and great animation. It has a strong allegorical Christian, moral worldview. It stresses doing the right thing, even if it means sacrificing your life, working together, seeking truth and justice, and overcoming differences through love. However, ZOOTOPIA 2 has a few implied adult jokes, two light profanities, and scary scenes of peril in the movie’s often exciting and comical action scenes. So, MOVIEGUIDE® advises caution for younger children. We suggest ages six and above are more appropriate.
Others who worked on the movie are proud of the final product. Those at Disney who worked to bring the animation to life believe it is one of the best stories they have ever produced, and it was the fastest animated movie to cross the $1 billion mark, doing so in just 17 days.
“Everyone at Disney Animation put their heart, soul and passion into this film to tell a story full of joy, imagination, and incredible thoughtfulness,” said Jared Bush, Chief Creative Officer, Walt Disney Animation Studios, in a statement. “This milestone means the world to us, because more than anything, it means audiences are coming to theaters for a shared experience of watching this movie on the big screen, everyone together, from all walks of life around the world — and that is a ZOOTOPIA dream come true.”
As uplifting movies continue to draw the largest audiences across the entertainment industry, it is encouraging to hear that even those working in the industry desire to create movies with strong morals that they can enjoy with their families.
