Jenny Marrs is wishing her fans “love and grace” this Christmas!

“Merry Christmas, friends,” she wrote in an Instagram caption. “May God bless each of you reading these words with His love and grace and comfort in these last handful of days leading into the joy we celebrate on Christmas morning.”

In another recent Instagram post, Marrs wrote about her hopes for a “gentle Christmas” this year.

“The Advent season is sacred, yet my calendar is busting at the seams,” she wrote. “Even still, I want to soak this season in as fully as possible and am finding myself saying ‘no’ often. I want to create margin when it’s possible and not get caught up in the stress of my never-ending ‘to-do’ list. At the heart of it, what I really want is a gentle Christmas.”

Marrs explained that, after a year that saw the loss of many loved ones, from family members and neighbors to beloved pets, she wants to be “gentle with myself,” as well as others.

“I have a new perspective this year, and yet, I can walk in this season gripping ever-tightly to the Hope,” she shared. “After all, we celebrate gentleness embodied — a baby born in humble circumstances who grew into a man who described himself as humble and gentle. The One who wanted to teach us ‘the unforced rhythms of grace.’ (Matthew 11:29, MSG).”

She invited her Instagram followers to join her in this, writing, “Let’s walk in those unforced rhythms of grace and fight against the pressures to do more, buy more, be more. May this Christmas be a gentle, humble, and holy one.”

Marrs recently shared her favorite Christmas tradition, telling Swooon, “We go to church on Christmas Eve, we go to Dave’s parents’. And then Christmas morning the kids wake up and come downstairs. They have to stop at the top of the stairs and take their picture. The teenagers love that! And then they all come down together, and we take turns opening gifts, one gift at a time, so we can all see what they got.”

Her husband Dave added that the couple have made it a “rule” that they’re all home Christmas morning to enjoy the holiday together as a family.

As we continue on through the Christmas season, Marrs’ wishes of love, grace, and comfort are a wonderful reminder to focus on now, and into the new year.
