Joe Jonas just shouted out his “superhero” mom following her recent stroke.

“Our mom went through quite a journey, and we’re proud of her [and] that she feels comfortable talking about it. I’m sure that will encourage a lot of other people out there,” he told E! News. “She’s a very strong woman and someone that [has been] amazing to look up to our whole life and learn how to not only act around women, but also how to respect women.”

Joe added, “Our mom is just our superhero.”

The Jonas Brothers’ mother, Denise Jonas, revealed she had suffered a “basal ganglia” stroke during a recent appearance on the “Got It From My Momma” podcast.

She shared that the stroke affected her “cognitive thinking, my speech [and] reasoning.”

“I didn’t realize it,” Denise said of the stroke. “I was at home, [and] the symptoms that I had were that my blood pressure had been high. I had gone to three different doctors over the course of six months prior…and I woke up feeling like my arms are weird. It’s terrible, but it’s the only way I can describe it.”

She continued, “Then, when I had gotten up to go to the restroom, I had a glass of water next to the sink. I was trying to get a glass of water and the movement wouldn’t happen. I was telling my hand, but my hand wasn’t listening to my brain.”

Denise is now in recovery and chooses to look at her health scare positively.

“Although I had this health scare, I always say it was probably the best thing that happened to me,” she explained. “I feel like it was a gift…from the Lord. I don’t think most people say that about something but it caused me to really be still.”

Denise and husband Kevin Sr. have been married for 40 years, sharing sons Joe, Kevin, Nick and Frankie. Through it all, the couple have been there for the sons, supporting them as they found fame on Disney as musicians and actors.

When the Jonas Brothers received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Joe praised his parents in his speech, thanking them for their “unwavering support and love.”

“They have always been our biggest cheerleaders and have been with us every step of the way,” he said.

The Jonas Brothers are grateful for the support of their mother throughout their years in the entertainment industry and thankful that she has recovered from her recent health scare.
