It’s official — TRACKER is moving to Los Angeles! The show is relocating its production to LA for a whopping $48 million tax credit from the state of California.
TRACKER is the “biggest series to be lured back to California so far,” per Deadline. The outlet cited a $42 million credit given to Amazon’s FALLOUT, which moved from New York to LA for its second season, as well as upcoming drama THE LAND, which was given $42.8 million.

“I’m proud of what we built in Vancouver. I’m also very excited we’re bringing TRACKER to LA,” star and executive producer Justin Hartley said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to continuing to tell these stories alongside the new, fresh places we’ll be heading to next. Most importantly, I want to thank the fans for showing up for us every step of the way. We couldn’t do this without you.”
Executive producer and showrunner Elwood Reid added, “Location is a huge part of the storytelling on TRACKER. We’re so grateful to the crew and people of Vancouver who made the first three seasons of this hit drama possible, and are simultaneously thrilled to be able to kick off the fourth season of TRACKER by filming in Los Angeles, thanks to the tax incentive program that supports bringing production back to California.”
This deal has been in the works for some time. While the series itself was unnamed, the $48 million credit was mentioned in a March report from the California Film Commission about upcoming credits.
It’s part of an ongoing effort to bring movie and TV production back to LA. The tax credit program officially started in October of 2024.
“California’s creative economy isn’t just part of who we are — it helps power this state forward,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom said in a March statement “From the folks on the soundstage to the people designing the sets, these are jobs that anchor communities. I’m pleased to expand this award to animated and competition shows, helping advance the strongest entertainment economy in the nation and bringing even more good-paying jobs to California.”
In an April 2026 statement, Newsom said, “California remains the entertainment capital of the world — and we’re making sure it stays that way. Our expanded film and television tax credit is keeping more productions here in the Golden State, creating good-paying jobs and supporting communities statewide. I’m proud to announce the next round of projects that will keep California films rolling and strengthen our leadership in the global creative economy.”
TRACKER’s major tax credit might just be the beginning of the return of Hollywood!
