Though Disney is integrating more with Hulu, the Hulu app will remain — for now.

Disney will still offer a unified app for Disney+ and Hulu bundle subscribers in 2026. Both will eventually be merged on the same platform. However, the Hulu standalone subscription will still stay.

“There are no current plans to sunset the Hulu app,” a Disney representative clarified.

As of May 19, customers with the bundle can sync their profiles, which include watch history, recommendations and their watchlist. After the profile is synced, they can stream both Hulu and Disney from the Disney app, Variety reported.

“Viewers can easily pick up where they left off and enjoy the breadth and depth of Hulu and Disney+ content seamlessly,” The Walt Disney Company said.

Subscribers with a Hulu + Live TV plan, a Disney+, Hulu, Max bundle or Hulu add-ons cannot sync their profiles with Disney+. And kids’ profiles or profiles under 18 years of age on Hulu cannot link to Disney+.

If you have the Hulu and Disney+ subscription bundle, you can sync your Hulu profile with Disney+ by signing in to Disney+ with the same login you use for Hulu. Choose if you want to create a new Disney+ profile based on your Hulu profile or link it to a current Disney+ profile.

For synced profiles, the “For You” tab will also include Hulu content. Hulu also has its own hub on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company said it will soon test a Live Guide for subscribers that helps them find live-streaming content. That includes ABC News Live and Disney+ Playtime and ESPN networks for entitled ESPN Unlimited subscribers.

Hulu features like Live TV channels and add-ons will integrate with Disney+ eventually. These are still available in the Hulu app.

9to5Mac reported that Hulu subscribers can now use the Disney+ app to stream Hulu content, even if they don’t have a Disney+ account. They can do this under a unified MyDisney login. Disney also launched Hulu avatars on the Disney+ app.

Hulu-only subscribers will also now be able to sign into Disney+ using their Hulu login credentials. They can stream Hulu content and a “small sampling” of Disney+ and ESPN content on Disney+ “to get a taste of what is offered to bundle subscribers,” the company said. The company hopes to get these subscribers to purchase their Disney+ bundle.

Disney’s Hulu integration has moved slowly over the last three years. While it had majority operational control of Hulu since 2019, Disney came to a buyout agreement with Hulu in 2023 and added Hulu on-demand content in 2024.
