Atlanta Falcons running back Nathan Carter doesn’t want you to waste your life but to secure it in the “Eternal Gift” of Jesus Christ.
“Imagine if you were given a ticket to the biggest concert that you could think of, but you were told it would expire at the end of the night. Would you waste any time? No, you would ensure every moment counts,” the running back shared on Instagram. “Life is like that ticket; it is not permanent and can expire at any moment. We would be foolish to believe that tomorrow is promised when the concert ticket will expire at the end of the night; likewise, we would be foolish to think that tomorrow is promised when we have no idea when our expiration date is.”
Carter described how “fragile and fleeting” life really is, referencing Psalm 103:15-16, which reads, “The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it, and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more”
“And yet, our story doesn’t have to end there,” Carter continued. “While our days on earth may be numbered, the Creator of this universe offers something that the wind cannot blow and take away. God offered us His Son.

Carter then cited the most shared Bible verse, John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
“Our fragility is because of sin. I am a sinner; you are a sinner. We stand guilty before a holy God who cannot overlook sin. We deserve judgment. We deserve separation from Him forever. We deserve hell,” he said.
“But God, being rich in mercy, gave us His Son Jesus Christ to live the life that we couldn’t live and to take the penalty of death for our sins that we deserved to die because He loves us!” the athlete celebrated. “Jesus bore the weight of our rebellion on the cross, was buried, and three days later rose from the grave! His resurrection gives us new life, living hope, and the promise of eternal life for those who call on His name to be saved.”
“Christ rescues us from life’s fragility and gives us something to live for. Not to earn His love, but as a response to the gift of grace He offers to us. You can accept that now, so ask yourself, what’s holding you back?” Carter added.
The running back concluded his post with a quote from Charles Sturgeon: “Brother, come if you can, and if you can’t come, come as you can. Will you not come, when by coming to Christ you may save your soul?”
What a powerful reminder of life’s fleeting nature and the invitation God gives us for eternal security when we put our faith in Jesus.
