Small Church Groups Show Increasing Influence

Small groups in large churches are fast becoming the way in which Christians relate to one another, and to the world, through their faith, according to one expert.
“Megachurches are creating around them structures and especially functions that once were done by the denominations,” says Scott Thumma, author of BEYOND MEGACHURCH MYTHS and Hartford Seminary professor. “They are creating alternative ways for churches and for religious people to get resources to do ministry, to do missions, to connect with other churches.”
This could mean that the best way to reach the Christian audience today is through small groups.
