Eagles WR Shares Surprising Hot Take on Being a Super Bowl Champ
By Movieguide® Contributor
Veteran wide receiver A.J. Brown just won his first Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles, but he’s learning that winning isn’t everything.
“After a few days, I’ve had time to reflect on being a champion. I tried to feel how everyone made it seem to be a champion, and unfortunately, it was short-lived…two days, to be exact,” he wrote in a post on Instagram.
“I’ve never been a champion at the highest level before, but I thought my hard work would be justified by winning it all,” he continued. “It wasn’t.”
He even scored a touchdown during the Eagles 40–22 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, but football is about more than just winning for him.
“My thrill for this game comes when I dominate,” the wide receiver added. “It’s the hunt that does it for me. It’s when the DB drops his head and surrenders. The Intense battles. Early mornings. Late nights. Sacrifices. I love putting smiles on people’s faces, don’t get me wrong, but it just wasn’t what I thought it would be. It’s the journey that I love the most. BACK 2 Work!”

Brown is right. Our satisfaction will never be found in winning a Super Bowl, landing a job promotion, getting a relationship or earning more money. It will only be found in Jesus Christ.
Jesus told us this in John 4 when he spoke with the woman at the well. He told her:
Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
When you find yourself chasing after the wrong thing, turn your heart and mind to Jesus, and let Him fill you with everything you need.
