Alexa PenaVega Partners With World Vision to Help Those In Need This Christmas

SPY KIDS star Alexa PenaVega made a trip to the World Vision Toy Distribution Center, where she brought “some pre-Christmas joy” to families this holiday season.
“I think having kids just magnifies the entire experience. I know how little kids are. I know what it feels like to be sad and lonely and to see that kind of community come together today…it was exciting,” she said of her time.
PenaVega shared some of her family’s Christmas traditions.
She explained that because her husband, Carlos PenaVega, grew up in a very Hispanic culture, he would celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve. She, however, grew up celebrating on Christmas Day.
So, the two compromised and decided to open presents on Christmas Eve while Christmas Day focused on their faith.
“That’s the day that we really get to celebrate Jesus,” she explained. “We get to have conversations about Him, and it’s great because the kids get really, really into it and they want to talk about the stories of Jesus and the stories in the Bible. For us, that’s just been such a fun way to make Christmas last a little longer. It makes it really powerful and impactful for our entire family.”
PenaVega designed a bracelet that will be featured in the World Vision gift catalog for this holiday season.

Actress Melissa Joan Hart recently returned to Zambia with her husband and their three children to check in on their sponsored children they support through World Vision .
As a World Vision ambassador, Hart works alongside the relief organization to provide clean water, livestock, and many other needs to families in rural Zambia.
“We were so excited to come back to Zambia and see not only the girls we sponsor, but how the area has developed and the work that World Vision’s done in the area,” Hart said in a recent interview. “We were thrilled just coming here, and we couldn’t wait. It was just as wonderful as we expected it to be.”
