The amount of Christian content being produced continues to rise, and a new study revealed that 60% of American adults consume Christian media in some form at least once per week.
“I think Hollywood is slowly waking up to [the Christian market], that there’s kind of a sleeping giant out there, as far as this content could play for a lot of people,” JESUS REVOLUTION director Brent McCorkle said in 2023. “And I really think we’re also coming into a place where people are going to be more receptive to faith-genre films that are well done.”
McCorkle’s prediction has proven accurate as more and more Christian content gets produced every year. Even more exciting, it is coming from all corners of the industry, finding a home at Christian and non-Christian companies alike.
Great American Pure Flix, for example, has repeatedly affirmed its commitment to creating stories that offer biblical and moral lessons and are rooted in a Christian world, even when faith is not the focus of the movie.
“We want to be a place that you can come to, and you click on a movie, and you know that you’re going to get a certain experience. And that means faith. That means family. That means country. That means supporting things I think that are very important to our culture and very important to people that they don’t get from the typical media outlet,” Great American Pure Flix CEO Bill Abbott said in September 2023.

At the same time, Amazon has gotten involved in Christian media through its partnership with Jon Erwin’s Wonder Project, which found great success in HOUSE OF DAVID, dominating Prime Video’s charts when it first released.
“Our goal at The Wonder Project is to tell stories that restore faith in things worth believing in, and to do this at scale,” Wonder Project executive Kelly Merryman Hoogstraten said during the studio’s HOUSE OF DAVID announcement. “We’ve been blown away by Amazon’s commitment to help us do this — both through the significant resources they are dedicating and their trust in us to tell these stories authentically to our audience.”
Meanwhile, faith-based content is also popular across social media with Christian creators like musician Forrest Frank finding immense success on TikTok and Instagram.
“It’s felt like God is just holding my hand through it, so I can’t take any credit for it. And I know that’s such a cliché thing to say, but with everything in my being, it feels like he’s holding my hand,” Frank said about the unprecedented success he has found.
All in all, it is clear that America is hungry for the Lord, and the entertainment industry has a lot to offer, allowing people of all ages and demographic to consumer edifying content that brings them closer to God.
