Andrea Bocelli Says ‘Love’ Inspired 30-Year Career
By Movieguide® Contributor
Grammy-nominated vocalist Andrea Bocelli revealed that love and a desire to use the talents God gave him has inspired his 30-year career.
“The source of my inspiration is always the same, and I can summarize it in one word: love. Love across the board: sensual love, love for life, for beauty, for the brotherhood that unites us, and for He who created us,” Bocelli told Grammy.com.
“I believe that there is a purpose conceived for each one of us. Every life is a story that reflects a specific plan,” he continued. “Every woman, every man is born with a talent that is a gift by heavenly design. It is up to our conscience, to our free will to cultivate and honor it or vice versa squander it.”
“I personally tried to honor mine, making my voice available to share values, such as love, optimism and brotherhood,” Bocelli added. “After that, everything is in the hands of our good Lord, so what I do is look up to the heavens every day and give thanks, ask for help, pray and whisper, ‘Your will be done.’”
Bocelli’s fans can get a closer look at the singer’s life through his upcoming documentary ANDREA BOCELLI: BECAUSE I BELIEVE.
Rolling Stone reported, “Directed by Cosima Spender, the film will go behind the scenes of Bocelli’s personal life and work, including never-before-seen insights into his story and off-the-stage scenes with his family and friends.”
“It’s always a privilege to be invited into someone else’s world,” Spender said. “When that person is Andrea Bocelli, it’s an opportunity to delve into a landscape of sounds, memories, and opera that are entirely unique to him.”
The documentary is slated to release in 2024.
Throughout his career, the singer continues to focus on family.
“Music is an integral part of the Bocelli family,” he explained. “We sit around a piano with the same daily frequency that we sit around our kitchen table. These are beautiful moments that we share together as a family in the house as well as on the stage.”
“Sharing the stage with your children is an indescribable feeling. It is another beautiful gift that my life has given me,” Bocelli added.
Recently, Bocelli and his son Matteo performed in THE CHOSEN’s Christmas special, CHRISTMAS WITH THE CHOSEN: HOLY NIGHT.
He and his daughter Virginia shared a special Christmas performance on GOOD MORNING AMERICA. Movieguide® reported:
Singer Andrea Bocelli and his daughter Virginia celebrated the Christmas season on GOOD MORNING AMERICA with a performance of the holiday classic “Let it Snow.”
“For their performance, Andrea, 65, wore a white suit as he sat at the piano and Virginia, 10, wore a festive red dress as she showed off her impressive vocals. The duo performed on a festive set with twinkling lights and Christmas trees,” PEOPLE reported.
Last month, the father-daughter duo, along with Bocelli’s 25-year-old son Mateo, released a holiday album titled “A Family Christmas,” featuring many classic Christmas songs.
“We really wanted to make an album that truly reflected us, to recreate a mood, that magical state of mind that Holy Christmas is able to instill in us,” Bochelli said. “I hope that the serenity and joy that constantly marked each moment of our work together comes through in every note sung.”
