Anne Wilson’s newest song reminds listeners that even when they are carrying the weight of the world, they are not alone because the Lord is always with them.
“Some seasons you have the strength to walk through, and other seasons you need to be carried. Let this be your reminder today that you’re not alone. Jesus will carry you 🤍,” Wilson wrote on Instagram.
In the video clip, she sings:
I went to bed 15, I woke up 23
And now it all just feels like some kind of crazy, tragic dream
Truth is, I’m way too young to feel as old as I do

So girl, pull yourself together
Don’t you dare lose your composure
So much for closureWhere is that little girl, that one I used to be?
I can’t remember the last time that I felt young and free
How much can one heart take when it’s taking on everything
I carry the weight of the world, can someone carry me?
Despite her young age, Wilson understands what it means to lean on the Lord when times get hard. Her brother tragically died in 2017 when she was only 15 years old. Wilson, however, relied on God during this difficult time.
“[‘Carry Me’ is] feeling like sometimes it can be so heavy in this life that we live in. This song is almost like a cry of help — someone help me carry what I’m going through in my life right now,” Wilson previously explained. “And I feel like it’s a song that a lot of people can relate to, no matter what you’re going through in your life, and even people outside of the faith can relate to it as well.”
“Carry Me” is not the only way that Wilson has encouraged her fans recently. In December, she released a devotional which helps young girls root their identity in Christ.
“Writing this devotional has been such a prayerful journey, and my biggest hope is that every girl who reads it feels seen, loved, and reminded of her worth in Jesus,” Wilson said of her Hey Girl devotional. “You don’t have to have it all together — He already calls you His. My prayer is that these pages bring you closer to His heart and give you courage to live boldly in who He’s made you to be!”
Wilson recognizes that she only has the Lord to thank for her career, as not only did He carry her through hard times in her life, but He also gave her the courage to start singing in front of people — something she was scared to do for a long time.
“God had such different plans for me. What He’s done in my life has been just so extraordinary. It’s been very interesting to see how you have an idea for your life and then He had another idea,” she said. “It can be completely different, but it’s everything that you ever needed and everything you ever dreamed of.”
Praise the Lord for the incredible career Wilson has already enjoyed and may she continue to be bold about her faith and use her platform to point her fans back toward Jesus.
