A new and unlikely mash-up series between two of TV’s favorite genres — home renovation and dating shows — hopes to steal hearts.
HGTV’s RENOVATING THE BACHELOR MANSION (working title) will see former BACHELOR and BACHELORETTE contestants compete to renovate the iconic mansion.
“For more than 40 seasons, zealous fans have watched singletons find love within the iconic walls of the recurring Bachelor(ette) Mansion. Now, HGTV shines the light on this recognizable estate, giving the property the facelift it finally deserves,” a press release shared on May 14 described.
Since 2002, eligible singles have arrived at the Agoura Hills, California, mansion to eat, sleep and hopefully find true love. Now former contestants “who possess expert reno skills” will compete for more than just love: a cash prize is on the line as they work to update the space which features iconic locations like the Rose Ceremony room, sleeping quarters and pool area.
“Our strength lies in our ability to create shows that dominate the zeitgeist,” said Chairman and CEO of the Warner Bros. Channing Dungey of the show. “We produced six of the top 10 new unscripted series on cable last year, and we’ll continue to push the boundaries of great storytelling to serve the dedicated fans of our signature franchises in bold new ways.”

For many years, the Haraden family lived in the mansion when filming wasn’t taking place. They’d move out twice a year to accommodate the shows.
“We move everything out, pack it up,” Marshall Haraden Sr. told GOOD MORNING AMERICA at the time
Today, the house is used as an Airbnb, hosted by Nick Haraden.
The 200-year-old mansion is over 10,000 square feet with an exterior space of 20,000 square feet. A description of the home on Airbnb reads, “The Mansion boasts 7 bedrooms (8 baths) with sleeping arrangements for over 13 guests if needed.” The mansion boasts “one of the most famous pools in the world, two jacuzzis, a pool table, hand crafted furniture, eye popping views, and enormous outdoor space.” The property sits on 10 acres in the Santa Monica Mountains of Malibu.
THE BACHELOR has been a hit series for over two decades, having won 9 awards including a TV Guide Award, Teen Choice Award and People’s Choice Award. There have been no announcements yet as to which former contestants will participate in the show, but RENOVATING THE BACHELOR MANSION is set to premiere on HGTV and HBO Max in 2026.
