Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen loves being a football player, but he can’t wait to be a dad.
Allen and his wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld, are expecting their first child in just a few months.
During a press conference, an interviewer asked Allen if he and Steinfeld have been able to “map some things out” before their baby comes.
“I mean, to the best of our abilities, but I’ve known this from well in advance,” the athlete began. “I’ve got a lot of siblings that have kids, I’ve got a lot of friends that have kids, and I don’t know if you can plan too far in advance, so I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife, of becoming a dad.”
“It’s, you know, something that I will take with great pride, and we’re gonna have to figure things out on the go, just like anything else. But this is the most important thing of all in my life, is being a dad. And I know I love being a football player, and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. But I’m looking forward to this one,” Allen emphasized.
“This is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, being a dad.” 👏

The couple announced their pregnancy in December in Steinfeld’s Substack newsletter that highlighted 29 of her favorite moments of the past year to celebrate her birthday.
Some of the things on her list included, “The feeling of being a beginner,” “Writing every day, even when it’s hard, especially when it’s hard,” “Waking up to the pitter-patter of Teenie and Brando’s paws on the hardwood floor,” “Realizing that privacy in your personal life is so sacred,” “Opening up more of myself in these letters,” and for the last moment the actress wrote, “This video…”
In the video, Allen and Steinfeld pose in the snow exposing her pregnant belly as the football star kneels down to kiss his wife’s belly.
The couple wed in May last year, and the actress couldn’t be more grateful for their marriage.
“That inner peace that you have, that rock, that solid, consistent part of your life is indescribable,” Steinfeld said in November. “I literally thank God every day that I found my person, and it’s the greatest thing in the world. Life makes sense. Everything makes sense. I feel like I am stepping into the version that I’ve always dreamed of being, having so much to do with being with him.”
Allen and Steinfeld have yet to reveal their baby’s gender, but one thing is certain: they can’t wait to be parents.
