Blind Christian Singer Makes TODAY Show Debut, and He’s So Grateful
By Movieguide® Contributor
Singer and songwriter Blessing Offor had the opportunity to perform his new song “All Over the World” on TODAY WITH HODA & JENNA.
“I come from more parts of the world than I can tell you,” he said of what inspired the song. “Nigeria, New York, Connecticut, L.A., now I live in Nashville, I call it home, so I’m a guy who A, believes in love, and B, believes in the world, so here we are.”
He crooned:
Your love’s got so much power
Just one touch and now we’re
Paris, France and Eiffel Tower
My heart keeps beating louder…Thirty thousand feet in the sk
Every time I look in your eyes
No matter where I promise you I’ll
Love you girl
All over the world
Offor shared the special moment in a post on Instagram. Under a photo of him with TODAY hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Hager, he wrote, “Too many people to thank for this moment, but first I wanna start with @hodakotb and @jennabhager for being such great hosts! Did you guys watch?! What’d you think?! We should definitely do it again soon!”
Fans commented in excitement over the moment. “You were incredible!!” one person said. Another added, “Blessing bringing good news on the news! Love it! Need more of that! Congrats!”
Offor has an incredible story. Born in Nigeria, his parents moved him to America when he was six years old so he could get treatment for his blindness in one eye. He eventually lost his vision completely in both eyes and turned to music.
“I always had a relationship with music, loved it,” the Movieguide® Awards performer explained previously. “The hues and shadings in colors are limitless.”
He continued, “The thing about music is that it has this ability to transcend language and even understanding. You could listen to a K-pop song and have no idea what they’re saying, but something in it speaks to you. You can listen to a song in Spanish or Portuguese and beyond understanding exactly what they’re saying, something about it still emotes to you.”
