Brittany Lutz Reminds Us To Rely ‘On God Over Ourselves’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Brittany Lutz shared a new devotional message and encouraged viewers to lean on God’s understanding.
Lutz first cited Galatians 3:3: “Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by the flesh?”
“Everyday we have decisions to make and responsibilities to attend to,” Lutz read from her devotional. “It’s easy for the lines of faith and flesh to subtly blur.”
She explained that, when completing a task, it’s easy to look at the ways God has equipped you and take it as your own skills, or “like it’s us doing the doing.”
“When we fall into the deception of self-reliance, however, we can become addicted to our own abilities,” Lutz said, adding that this self-reliance can cause stress and pride.
She continued: “If you’re struggling with stress or pride, then that means that you probably are not relying on God, because in His presence…there is no stress, there is no anxiety.”
Lutz called this a “wonderful reminder” as we continue through the holiday season.
“Going into 2024, we can start, right now, relying on God over ourselves,” she said. “I think if we can just remember that God is the one that gave us our gifts and gave us the potential…if we just keep that straight, we have nothing to worry about.”
Movieguide® previously reported on Lutz’s devotional series:
Brittany Lutz is sharing her faith journey in a new series of video devotionals.
“It’s really beautiful to see how, when you step out in faith and when you share your faith and your journey…God creates community out of vulnerability and transparency,” she explained.
Lutz went on to say that we shouldn’t keep our journeys to ourselves, adding, “We’re products of our journey, we’re products of the things that we’ve gone through.”
She shared that her new video series will share her devotional, going through 100 days.
Lutz recently shared some hilarious videos on her Instagram story as she and her family prepare for Christmas.
“My husband flipped the 8 ft inflatable decorations (t-Rex, gingerbread man and snowman) to face INSIDE the house because he wanted our daughter to be able to enjoy them,” she wrote, showing off the inflatable figures looking into the house. “It’s problematic for two reasons,” she says. “1. He did not notify me of this plan and when I saw them they scared the crap out of me. And 2. Do you know how odd it looks from the street to just see the backsides of these things looking into our house?”
