Browns QB: ‘Victory Comes From the Lord’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Cleveland Browns fans say a player doesn’t become a true Browns player until they beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Browns quarterback Jameis Winston fulfilled that expectation and led his team to a 24-19 victory over the Steelers last week.
“The horses prepare for battle, but victory comes from the Lord. So, I’m depending on the Lord,” Winston said before the game began.
When asked about his message to the team, the quarterback said, “Day by day, one play at a time. That’s the message.”

The win didn’t come without challenges, including snow.
At the start of the game, fans and viewers could see the green field, but by the end, it was covered.
“I am so happy and grateful that the Lord has blessed me and allowed me to play in some snow,” Winston said. “To be in true football weather in Cleveland, Ohio at Huntington Bank Field, today to give Him the glory. It’s a beautiful day.”
Fans love Winston’s funny antics.
“They got us on Thursday night. We the only people on TV. Call your aunties, call your cousins. Call your kids and tell them to come watch me, I’m on TV!” he yelled in the locker room before the game.
But as a Christ follower, he is faithfully glorifying the Lord and encouraging his teammates and coaches along the way.
“Victory comes from the Lord,” he declared in an Instagram post after the game.
“Unbelievable how much fun and energy you’ve brought to this team and city, BE GREAT JAMEIS,” one fan commented.
Another wrote, “Steelers fan here, but this dudes a legend.”
