Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter Rumer feels “deep gratitude” to her parents for creating such a strong family bond.
While appearing on British talk show LOOSE WOMEN, Rumer updated viewers on her father, who has been battling frontotemporal dementia for the last three years.
“He’s doing great,” she shared. “I think, obviously, as many people in California, the thing we’re all kind of most scared of dealing with is just the fires and wanting to make sure everything is okay.”
Rumer continued, “Because my family, we’re all so close, I think what’s so beautiful is the way that we rally around each other, [it’s] so lovely, because we really are a unit.”

She also praised her parents for the “beautiful” example they set as co-parents. Willis and Moore divorced in 2000 but still remain close.
“I think the thing that I’m most grateful for is that even when they split up, they created such a beautiful foundation of prioritizing my sisters and I, that I never felt like I had to choose or like, they never played against each other,” Rumer explained.
She added, “We were a family, and we still are very much a family no matter what. And not only did I feel like that has set me up in my life to have such a beautiful foundation of my own family, but now, as I’m working through co-parenting as well, I feel deep gratitude for the example they’ve set.”

Last year, Rumer revealed that she and partner Derek Richard Thomas had split, a year after welcoming daughter Louetta.
“I am single momming it and coparenting,” she wrote in an Instagram story. “I’m so grateful for Lou. She is the best thing in my life and I’m forever grateful I was able to have the time in that relationship for her to come into my life.”
Rumer previously spoke to Fox News about motherhood, telling the outlet, “Honestly, everything’s rewarding. She’s my best friend. I’m away from her for an hour, and I miss her.”
