It may only be March, but Great American Media already has their sights set on Christmas, announcing a new original holiday movie starring Candace Cameron Bure and Jonathan Scarfe.

The movie, titled ONE MORE CHRISTMAS, is currently in production, set to release Christmas 2026.

“In ONE MORE CHRISTMAS, Anna (Bure) and James Campbell (Scarfe) have been divorced for five years, their once-happy union now a carefully managed truce for the sake of their children. When their daughter invites the entire family to meet her serious boyfriend over Christmas at her grandparents’ rustic Smoky Mountain cabin, the former couple reluctantly agrees,” a synopsis from a GAM press release said.

The description continues, “Arriving a day early to avoid awkwardness, Anna is surprised to find James has the same idea. But when the worst ice storm in a decade traps them in the mountains with no way out, the exes are forced to confront the history they share — and the possibility that their story may not be finished after all.”

“Candace Cameron Bure has an extraordinary instinct for stories that uplift, inspire, and reflect the enduring values of faith,” Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media, said. “She not only understands our audience, but she also champions them. Her commitment to quality storytelling continues to set the standard for what Great American Christmas is all about.”

Bure reflected on the movie’s faith-filled themes in an interview with US Weekly.

“ONE MORE CHRISTMAS is about marriage, family, and the beauty of second chances,” the actress said. “It asks the question: what if you could have a do-over — but this time with maturity, faith and a deeper understanding of who you are and who God is at the center of it all?”

Though she might be known as the Queen of Christmas, Bure wants to take her iconic holiday flicks to surprising places.

“Christmas movies are evolving for me. They’re not just about a big-city girl meeting a small-town boyfriend anymore. With [my production company] CandyRock Entertainment, we’re passionate about creating stories that carry meaning, purpose and hope — stories that remind people it’s never too late for redemption, healing and love,” she explained.

US Weekly posted a first look of Bure as Anna and Scarfe as James on Instagram, and fans gushed with excitement.

“It just isn’t Christmas without a Candace Christmas movie,” one person said. Another added, “This makes me so happy!”

Bure previously spoke about her love of Christmas movies, especially the ones she makes with GAM.

“We know the reason we celebrate Christmas is because of the birth of Christ,” she said in 2024. “I’ve made tons of [movies] that don’t ever mention the real meaning of Christmas. So just the fact that we mention God or there’s a scripture or there’s a biblical message that might be a proverb, someone might hear it and go, ‘Oh, that’s really good advice.’ They might not realize it comes from the Bible, but we love putting that in the movies.”

Stay tuned for more news about Bure’s new Christmas movie and other seasonal favorites that will arrive this year.
