With less than a month and a half until BOSTON BLUE’s release, CBS provided fans with first-look photos that will certainly get them excited.

“Danny Reagan is back and he’s got a new partner! We have your first look at #BostonBlue stars Donnie Wahlberg and Soneque Martin-Green,” a caption on the photos reads.

While some of the photos feature Danny Reagan in his iconic suit, he is also seen with a new look as he rocks a leather jacket with jeans. Meanwhile, Martin-Green’s character, Lena Silvers, wears a sure to be iconic outfit as well, rocking a sharp gray suit.

The change in style that Reagan shows off in these photos perhaps hints at a change in the overall character as he steps into a new life in Boston. Wahlberg has previously explained that his transition will not necessarily be easy for the character as he leaves behind his family in New York.

“It’s going to be a journey and a process for him,” Wahlberg said. “He’s with the audience who says, ‘I can’t imagine Danny would move to Boston.’ Well, neither can he. He’s with you. He’s going to have to figure this out because it’s a dramatic life change.”

“I’ll just say the journey of developing this show, it’s really fun letting Danny be a fish out of water to be in this new world,” the actor continued. “It’s also important to remember where he comes from and what the BLUE BLOODS legacy is. We’re keeping all of that at the forefront of our thoughts as we build this thing.”

Though he will be living in a new city, Reagan is not necessary saying goodbye to his friends and family back in New York. Wahlberg has previously expressed his interest in bringing back multiple characters from BLUE BLOODS, if only for an episode or two.

“New York and Boston are really close,” Wahlberg said. “They’re not that far apart. I like the way you asked the question. You covered a lot of possible ways for people to drop in on us. Yeah, BLUE BLOODS is important to the audience, it’s important to me, it’s important to Sonequa [Martin-Green, who plays Lena Peters, Danny Reagan’s new partner]. She’s a BLUE BLOODS fan. She’s my partner, and she’s a BLUE BLOODS fan. She wants to keep that legacy alive, as well.”

Meanwhile, Reagan will join a story that is not too different from his own as his new partner comes from a law enforcement family herself, which he will likely be invited into in some way.

“We are obviously standing on the shoulders of the Reagan family, the culture that was already established. And I love it because we’re going to get close with another family, the Silvers, which is also a prominent law enforcement family, and that’s where Lena Silvers is from,” Martin-Green explained. “And it’s very similar to the Reagans. I mean, they couldn’t be more different, but they are also so similar…It’s crime. It’s doing the right thing. It’s sacrifice.”

BOSTON BLUE premieres on CBS on Oct. 17.
