Clemson University QB Cade Klubnik: ‘God is Incredible’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Twenty-year-old Clemson University quarterback Cade Klubnik works hard at his game for God’s glory.
“Nothing in my life will ever compare to how important and how just incredible God is in my life,” he said on the SportSpectrum podcast. “I’ve been thankful to have just great experiences in the game of football throughout my life so far, but not one of those have come close to the amazing things that God has done in my life.”
Klubnik recognizes that his success comes from God and hard work.
At the beginning of the 2022 season, the quarterback said, “I didn’t know if I was going to get to start in three days or if I was going to get to start in three years, so I just continued to keep my head down and just work and just enjoy the process.”
Now Clemson’s “undisputed starter,” he’s “just trying to do the same thing right now. I don’t know when my last day will be playing football, so I’m just enjoying every day of it.”
Joshua Doering with Sports Spectrum reported, “Whenever people point out the hard work that it took for Klubnik to get to the position he is in, he likes to remind them that his willingness to work and passion for the sport had to come from somewhere.”
“Somebody’s gotta give you the want-to to put the work in,” he stated. “I’ve worked my butt off, but [it’s] because I love it. Because God gave me the love for this game, I love going to work. He gave me want-to to go put the work in to get to where I am now. I just feel like I haven’t done much to get where I am.”
His hard work paid off last season when he led his team to an ACC Championship win.
Klubnik’s time at Clemson is about more than just football. The university’s faith-filled atmosphere on and off the field was key in his decision to commit to the school.
“The culture that [head coach Dabo Swinney’s] built here, it’s unreal,” Klubnik expressed. “It’s truly just based on God, first of all. You won’t walk through our Clemson football facility and meet somebody that just doesn’t make you smile. That’s just the truth.”
As soon as Klubnik stepped on campus, he joined a Fellowship of Christian Athletes meeting where many athletes get together to share one another burdens and celebrate their victories.

A quarterback for the Clemson University football program, Klubnik was named the ACC Championship Game MVP in his freshman year. In that game, he completed 20 of 24 passes with a total of 279 yards and two touchdowns to help Clemson beat North Carolina 39-10.
Besides that, Klubnik’s faith has grown tremendously at Clemson.

Additionally, Klubnik shared a photo and wrote, “‘You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.’ ~Psalm 16:11.”
