Clean comedian Nate Bargatze just announced his next big venture: THE GREATEST AVERAGE AMERICAN game show.
The exciting new game show, which “celebrates the power of being perfectly average,” will debut on ABC on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, at 9:00 p.m. ET. Bargatze will host.
“Each round is packed with laugh-out-loud challenges and trivia as contestants try to guess how everyday Americans think and live. In the end, one lucky player will be crowned the Greatest Average American and get the chance to win the ultimate grand prize: the average American salary of $67,920,” a synopsis from ABC reads.
Bargatze, who is probably the most popular comedian in the world right now, shared the exciting news on Instagram, much to his fans’ delight.
“Hi, I’m Nate Bargatze, and this is my average announcement of my new game show [The] Greatest Average American premieres February 25, It’s on ABC, and streams on Hulu. See you soon,” he said.

“It’s funny that after all the time and effort, the blood, sweat, and tears, the winner of the show will brag about being the greatest average American. Congrats on the show. Love your content,” one person joked in the comment section. Another person added, “I know this will be amazing. By far the best in the game!”
The title, THE GREATEST AVERAGE AMERICAN, was also the name of Bargatze’s 2021 Netflix special. Since then, the clean comedian’s fame has grown immensely. Currently he is the “highest earning touring comedian in the world” and sold over 1 million tickets in 2024 alone.
“It doesn’t feel like it’s happening to you,” he told TODAY earlier this year of his success.”Even back there, I was like, ‘I don’t know what anybody would want to hear me say.'”
He added, “It’s a lot to take in. Maybe you take it in later at another time. Maybe you sit back and really think. Right now, you stay in it, and you be as good as you possibly can be.”
In addition to his new show, Bargatze heads up “Nateland Entertainment” … “Where the jokes are clean and the logic’s questionable.”
The entertainment company aims to create clean and family-friendly comedy that is safe for the whole family, a major step forward for today’s comedy industry, where a lot of content is crass and inappropriate.
Fans can’t wait to see everything Bargatze has in store for THE GREATEST AVERAGE AMERICAN. One thing’s certain, though: there will be no shortage of laughs.
