Danny Gokey Reminds His Fans God Is on Their Side

Danny Gokey reminded his fans that no matter what they are facing in life, God is on their side and will guide them through the valleys.
“Things are not always what they seem… 🪞” Gokey wrote on Instagram. “Remind yourself of that in the face of life’s challenges. No matter how difficult the circumstances seem, when you’ve got God, you can know He’ll get you through! 🙌”
Along with the words of encouragement, Gokey released a song praising the Lord that when we lean on Him, He will never let us down and remains a firm foundation.
“The world might be shaking, but I stay in your presence, standing strong in your love,” Gokey sang. “‘Cause I got you. In the joy, in the pain, in the waiting, in the flood, in the fire, in the breaking; I’m standing on you so I won’t be moved. Yeah, I’ll get through, ‘cause I got you.”
Gokey has long encouraged his fans to stay strong in their faith no matter what life throws at them. He does not say this from a place of ignorance but rather from experience, having had to lean on God after losing his first wife while in his early 20s. Though it took many painful years, he eventually came to realize that Christ truly is enough.

“I didn’t believe Christ was enough. I believed there was Christ, plus now I’ve got to do X, Y and Z,” he told I Am Second. “One of the most profound things that I’ve learned in my walk with Christ is that He is enough. I leaned towards Jesus more than ever before. I wish I could say that it was a complete [immediate] change, but it’s a slow by slow change and…it’s just everyday getting up and moving forward.”
Having walked through such a difficult circumstance himself and finding solace in God, Gokey has now committed himself to pointing others towards Christ as well and helping them find hope no matter their circumstances.
