Christian Artist Stands Up for Life and Explains What Happens If We Don’t

Danny Gokey encouraged his fans to stand up for what is right, warning that if we allow immorality to prevail, the future of America is in jeopardy.
“The fact that we have debates about whether we should kill children or not through that cute word ‘abortion’ is insane,” Gokey wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Logic and reality ha[ve] left America and now people legitimately are confused if babies are human. A country that can’t accept reality will self-destruct.”

Whether the secular culture likes it or not, America was founded on Christian values, and that has been what has set us apart throughout history. Even when America was still a British colony, its people dreamed of being a “city on a hill” — referencing Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 5:14 that a light of the world cannot be hidden.
Though our country has long held on to this imagery and belief that we are a nation that always fights for goodness, our deepening separation from Christian values eats into the soul of our country. The Bible constantly teaches that only those guided by the Lord are good, and our nation continues to consciously distance itself from the Lord.
Thus, we have become more and more like the Gentiles who “are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed,” (Ephesians 4:17-19).
As Gokey explains, we must fight for our Christian values and work to steer our country back toward the Lord before we self-destruct through immorality.
A major avenue through which people’s beliefs are shaped and formed is through the media they consume. Matthew 6:22 teaches, “the eye is the lamp of the body.” For this reason, Americans need to be aware of the content they consume and how it is informing their worldview. Rather than allowing themselves to be swayed into believing the beliefs culture imposes upon them, Christians need to fight for their beliefs by consuming media that lines up with the Bible.
This is why Movieguide® remains committed to fighting for biblical values in Hollywood and helping connect Christians in the entertainment industry with as large of an audience as possible. In recent years, faith-based content has seen an incredible boom and more people than ever are choosing to both create and consume this type of content. America is not lost yet and this could be the start of a major revival.

During a recent stop on his “See You at the Library” book tour, actor Kirk Cameron encouraged Christians to fight for a great faith revival in our country, even as America slips further into moral decline.
“I want to communicate to people that now is the time to lean into your faith, to your courage, to your family and regain a vision of victory, not only a pie in the sky ‘let’s just get to heaven’ victory but a steak on the plate cultural victory in our lifetime,” Cameron said. “Many of us look around at our country and we have this sinking feeling that something is very, very wrong with the values that our kids are learning.”
“As a grandfather and as a father of six children, I care a lot about what we do in our generation because it will determine so much of what our children live with, the world that they’ll grow up in,” he added.
“I want to… write books and talk to people for as long as I can about turning their hearts toward God, turning their heart back toward their home, raising their children, not outsourcing their parenting to government institutions that have lesser goals and motives for those children than their own parents do,” Cameron continued.
