Living for the world exhausted Los Angeles Clippers guard Jordan Miller, but when he put his faith, hope and trust in God, the pressure quickly faded.
“I was so tired of the pressure that I put on myself to play well every night, where I’m going to end up being, and honestly, anxiety before games,” Miller revealed on “The Walk” podcast. “You know, like a lot of people know that I was on this huge roller coaster. If I’m playing well, I’m feeling great. If I’m playing badly, what’s going on? And so that tiredness feeling, knowing that I can’t do this myself, like I’ve been trying to do it myself, and it’s clearly not working.”
When the athlete reached his breaking point, he turned to the foundation that his mother always guided him towards: Jesus Christ.
“But my mom always kept me really, really grounded, and I was able to fall back on the word of God to get me to a place to know that regardless of what happens, I’m not playing basketball to reap the benefits from what the game will give me, or make X amount of money, or to just be glorified in a basketball image. I’m on this earth to glorify God and live, you know, the way He intended us to live,” Miller declared.

Now, Miller no longer lives for the things in this world or searches for validation through his performance on the court. Instead, he lives to be a light for Jesus.
Miller’s Instagram biography reads, “Follower of Christ,” and he often uses his social media platform to share about his faith.
In one post accompanied by snaps from the court, he referenced Psalm 86:15, which says, “But you, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness.”
In another post, he referenced Psalm 37:7, which reads, “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”
“I care more about your salvation than your feelings ✝️✌🏽,” he wrote in his latest post.
By surrendering his performance-driven identity and placing his trust in God, Miller found lasting peace and purpose that go far beyond the highs and lows of basketball. We too can experience that freedom, confidence and hope when we put our trust in Jesus for our salvation.
